The Lucknow PeeWee A's are smack
dab in the middle of a tough series of
hockey with the Thamesford team.
Lucknow currently leads the series two
games to one as they head into game four
tommorrow night here at the arena.
Game one played in Thamesford was an
exciting end-to-end contest with Lucknow
finally winning during the ten minute over-
time period.
Lucknow opened the scoring at 2:21 of
the first period when Chris Stevenson took
a Justin Murray pass and popped it in the
net.
Thamesford took a 3 - 1 lead early in the
second period before Clint Murray picked
up a rebound off Matt Sproul on a Donnie

one game
Cuilleriere blast from the blueline. This
narrowed the gap for a short time but
Thamesford again started the third period
strong and amassed a two goal lead once
again.
You could .tell Brad Rhody didn't want to
lose this one as he worked his way up ice
for the next Lucknow score. Chris Hum-
phrey and Rob Crich drew assists on that
one:
With just 1:09 remaining to play, Justin
Murray scored a desperation goal to tie the
game. Clint Murray and Rob Crich helped
out.
The tense overtime followed and it was
Brad Rhody again taking the initiative and
netting one less than one minute 'into the
extra period. Lucknow kept Thamesford
off the score -sheet and Justin Murrya add-
ed an empty net marker to give Lucknow
the 6 - 4 win.
Back in Lucknow for game two, it was a
different story as Thamesford handed the
Lucknow boys their first loss in the
playoffs. Lucknow seemed to outplay their
competition but just couldn't find the
trigger.
Scoring for Lucknow in the 4 - 2 loss were
Clint Murray from Chris Humphrey and
Terry Stanley; and Justin Murray from
Clint Murray and Terry Stanley.
Come game three, Lucknow was back on
track. Thamesford struck forst but Chris
Stevenson tied it up in the second period
with an unassisted marker.
Both teams were very careful not to let
the other go ahead and the score remained
1 - 1 -at the end of two periods.
Thamesford came out quick in the.third
and struck early but they Were getting the
game. Warren Andrew shot the puck in,
Vince Sticklend hit the post, and Darryl
Gibson followed up with the goal to once
again tie it up.
The winning goal for Lucknow came
when Justin Murray took a beautiful pass
from Chris Stevenson, pulled the goalie out
of position and. deposited the puck in the
net. The final score was 3 - 2 in favour of
Lucknow.
In game three, Thamesford outshot
Lucknow 31 shots to 22. Needless to say.,
Adam Skillen was brilliant in the nets for
the local boys.
Game four of this series goes Thursday
night starting at 8:00 p.m. and shod pro-
ve to be another exciting contest as these.
two teams are very evenly matched.
