(Rob Bundy photo) Capacity crowd at hall KFNGSBRIDGE arish/School On Tuesday evening, last week a capaci- ty crowd filled St. Joseph's Parish Hall to hear Constable Dave Packer, the Metro Toronto policeman who refused guard du- ty at the Morgentaler Abortion Clinic and as a consequence faces the loss of his job. Following an excellent talk Constable Packer answered questions from the au- dience concerning the abortion issue and the recent decision rendered by the Supreme Court of Canada. Constable Packer emphasized the fact that with the acceptance of abortion, infan- ticide and euthanasia are inevitable, and the moral fibre of society thus severely damaged. Refreshments were served following the presentation by Constable Packer. All pre- sent were greatly impressed and touched by Constable Packer's message. The commencement of Lent was marked by special Ash Wednesday ceremonies. A school mass was offered by Father Ed at 10:00 a.m. and the evening saw the Recita- tion of the Rosary, Stations of the Cross and Mass at 8:00 p.m. Distribution of ashes took place at both liturgies. Weekdays dur- ing Lent Father will be offering Mass at 12:00 noon in the school gym.
