While the boys looked lack -luster during the O.M.H.A. playdowns and a big loss to Teeswater, some position changes to beef up the defense lead to winning ways over Ripley and Tiverton. Last Tuesday evening in Ripley, Lucknow played its lowest total score game of the season and' came out ahead of their rivals by a score of 2 - 1. Lucknow goalies Paul Helm and Allan Kikkert are to be congratulated for their efforst in keeping the powerful Ripley of- fense down to a single goal. Both net - minders played well behind the defense of Jamie Johnston, Gavin Hunter, Rod Crich and Brad Murray. On Friday evening, the group round- robin play continued as Lucknow downed Tiverton 6 - 0. Allan Kikkert earned the shut -out in the contest by kicking out no less than 20 shots. The Lucknow offense was led by the the three point performances of Rod Crich, two goals and one assist; Donnie Gammie, a goal and two assists; and Russel Sutton who had three assists. The two prettiest goals on the night came from Dale Priestap and Mike Vandervelde. Both markers were short- handed goals gained through excellent hassle and some sharp passing. Brad Murray also scored when he gain- ed the slot and took a nice pass from Crich in the corner. The group round robin play continued this Friday in Lucknow when Ripley will come to town with revenge on their minds. Lancers will seek revenge come Friday Lucknow Intermediates The Lucknow Lancers returned to ac- tion over the weekend as they travelled to Drayton for the first game of their best -of - seven series. Steve Mac- Pherson and Grant Gilchrist got credit for the Lucknow markers. While a number of players from both teams kept upa steady stream to the penalty box, Drayton was able to tie the game late in the first, The home team ' was able to get themselves a two goal lead by the end of the second period as the Lancers con- tinually found themselves short-handed. The Lancers lone goal in the middle period came from the stick of Allan Eadie. The score was 5 - 3 heading into the third and that was as close as Lucknow got in the game as Drayton came out strong in the third and netted three more to the Lancers two.
