Free Trade Information Meeting.
A Free Trade Agreement Seminar will
be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall,
south of Walkerton, on Feb. 29, at 1:30 p.m.
At the seminar, Agriculture and Food
Minister, Jack Riddell, will discuss the
overall impact of the free trade agree-
ment. Also Bob Sequin, Director of
O.M.A.F.'s Economics and Policy Coor-
dination Branch, will provide a commodity
by commodity explanation of the agree-
.ment's expected impact:
Time will also be made available for a
question and answer period.
Consider Canola
Should you be 'considering canola again
this year? Higher future market prices
and a basis that is more kind to the pro-
ducers are encouraging many to recon-
sider this crop. Delivery contracts can
help to secure a market price and good
production techniques go behind a suc-
cessful crop. If you are going to grow
canola this year contact your local OMAF
office for some helpful pointers.

has initiated a 4-H Review Task Force.
The task force will examine
demographic trends in rural Ontario and

UCKNOW
There have been several changesjn the
community over the last few months.
Wayne McDonagh built' a new home on
Place St. which he moved into in
November. His former house on Ross St.
was sold to Wayne and Mary Cranston.
Other new houses being build this winter
include Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hamilton's
new home being erected on the eastern
. outskirts of the village'and they are hoping
will be ready for occupancy by April.
Also Mr. and Mrs. Tom Broome are
building a new home on Clyde St. next to
his shop and are looking forward to mov-
ing in by the end of March.
The office of Henderson Lumber has
taken on a new look with a more open con-
cept. It is brighter and has a greater selec-
tion of tools an building hardware. The
yard is being set up for a forklift supply
rather than a hand supply so requiring less
physical labour.
Treleaven's Mill have increased their
capacities within the mill making better
use of their existing structure. They have
also increased their raw grain capacity
and feed delivery bins capacity with four
new outside feed bins and a large corn
storage bin.
Mr. and Mrs. Rod Havens, Samantha
and Jeffery of Kinlough have rented the
former Bryce Elliott home on Albert St.
We are happy to hear that Alf Ritchie
has returned home and is progressing
quite well after spending two weeks in
University Hospital, London.
Jennie Porteous was saying that Bruce
Johnston of Aylmer, that was mentioned in
last week's Sentinel in the obituary of
William Habkirk was a son of Dr.
Johnston, well-known Doctor in Lucknow
for many years.
It seems in any competitive sport there
are those times when "lady luck" smiles
on you and you can't do anything wrong.

Remember when we used to play the
game "Fox & Geese" in a snow covered
yard with a circular trod( with cross
trails? When u e drove past Caledonia
Park Sat. afte' noon it looked like a group
of adult a )t , cinl; each other around in
the snow. l to w e . r we learned later it was
a new game called "Mushball" and they
looked as though they were having lots of
fun.
Sunday Sunshine, a group of talented in-
strumentalists from within the congrega-
tion, played at the Sunday morning service
in the United Church. In the afternoon a
family toboganning party was held, spon-
sored by the Sunday School and Young
Peoples. A good turnout was reported and
an enjoyable time for all those par-
ticipating. A pot luck supper back at the
church warmed everybody and brought
the happy event to a conclusion.
Marg Burkhart was the special speaker
at the Horticultural meeting in Teeswater
last week and was introduced by Ardonna
(Johnston) Le Grand.
Lillian Jones of Brucelea Haven reports
that Jack Henderson was voted by the
residents to be the "King of Hearts" at
their Valentine's Party on Fri. and was
presented with a crown in honour of his
recognition.
Omitted from Last week's column was
the fact that Megan Trachsel was the
daughter of Margie Trachsel of Outran St.
Megan is also a granddaughter of Bill and
Isobel McPherson.
