Roy Haldenby
Roy Haldenby, who had been in the
Chronic Wing of Walkerton General
Hospital for the past year, died on January
22, 1988, in his 95th year. Mr. Haldenby
formerly resided at Princess Court,
Kincardine.
Born on August 21, 1893 to Fred and
Phiniah (Hodgins) Haldenby, he was the
oldest of 10 children.
He was a member of St. Matthew's
Kingarf Church.
Mr. Haldenby leaves surviving his
children, Fred of McKellar; Glen of
Kinloss Township; Gayle and Barney of
Kincardine Township; Roy of Aylmer; Vic
of London; Clara Dahmer of Millerton;
Christine Brandt of Cornwall and Mildred
McCreight of Vernon, B.C.
A sister, Mrs. Blanche Anderson of Kin-
dardine, 25 grandchildren, 25 great grand-
children, and two great, great grand-
children also survive.
Mr. Haldenby was predeceased by his
wife, the former Hannah 1?etteplace of
Riversdale; a daughter, Patricia and a
grandson, David.
Rev. Bruce Sweetland, of the Walkerton
and Kingarf Anglican Churches, con-
ducted the funeral from the Davey
Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, on
January 25.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Douglas
Dahmer, Jim Marshall, Wayne Haldenby,
Glen Haldenby, Jeff Haldenby and Gary
Haldenby.

Melvin Jones
Melvin Jones of Dungannon, died in
Wingham and District Hospital, on
January 27, 1988, in his 80th year.
Mr. Jones was born on December 19,
1908, in West Wawanosh Township to the
late Bert Jones and Minnie Marsh.
He was predeceased by his parents and a
twin brother, Murray, in infancy.
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral
Home, Lucknow were in charge of the ar-
rangements. At the request of the deceas-
ed, there was no funeral home visitation
and his body was donated to science.
A memorial service was held on January
30, 1988 in Dungannon United Church, con-
ducted by Rev. Robert Roberts.
