Pee Wee A's end big
season with two wins
Lucknow PeeWee As
The Lucknow PeeWee A team travelled
to Ripley over the weekend and proceeded
to put a total of nine, goals past the Ripley
netminder on way to a big 9 - 3 win.
Chris Humphrey netted the first of the
night after some consistant poking and
prodding of the puck by Justin Murray.
Chris Stevenson put two away just six
seconds apart to increase the lead. The
first came right off the face off while
Stevenson's second came when he batted
in a Brad Rhody rebound.
In the second period, Vince Sticklend
blasted one off the post and in behind the
Ripley goalie. Helpers went to Murray and
Humphrey.
Stevenson struck for the hat -trick next
with an assist to Warren. Andrew.
Donnie Cuillerier notched the sixth
Lucknow goal with a blast from the
blueline and Stevenson added to his point
total when he put the puck on the stick of
Andrew who, in turn, made no mistake.
The Ripley team managed two goals in
the second to keep the game close, but
couldn't muster a comeback in the third
against the powerful Lucknow PeeWees.
Rhody opened up the third period scor-
ing midway through the final frame when
he picked up a rebound and popped it in.
Andrew and Stevenson picked up the
assists on that tally.
Minutes later, Ripley found their third
goal on the night but it wasn't enough as
Lucknow struck back when Clint Murray
banged in a goal set up by Darryl Gibson.
Once again, Lucknow seemed to play the
game from the penalty box but still
managed to keep the Ripley netminder
busy on route to a 9 - 3 win.
Next on the Lucknow hit list last week
was Tiverton as they rolled into town to
take home a 15 - 1 shellacing from the
hometown boys.
Vince Sticklend tipped in the first goal on
the night after a shot from Terry Stanley..
Warren Andrew's line worked their way
up the ice for the second Lucknow goal as
Andrew was assisted by Donnie Cuilleriere
and Justin Murray.
Darryl Gibson scored the third for
Lucknow while shorthanded assisted by
Duane Porter and Clint Murray.
Chris Stevenson scored the next two
goals, one with two teamates in the penalty
box and the second with one man in the sin
bin. Helpers on the goals went to Warren
Andrews, Rob Crich and Duane Porter.
This flurry made the score 5 0 for
Lucknow after one period of play.
With less than t*o minutes of play gone
on the clock in the second, Andrews picked
up a Crich rebound for the sixth and then
Stevenson stuck another past the goalie
with help from Cuilleriere.
Chris Humphrey shot from a sharp angle
for the eighth assisted by Justin Murray.
Matt Drennan connected for the ninth with
hard work from Clint Murray giving him
the assist.
Stevenson's line worked hard to give
Chris his fourth on the night' before the
period ended. Andrew and Rhody assisted.
After two periods, Lucknow was up 10 to
zip.
Justin Murray started off the final
period by scoring a dazzling goal from the
face-off while his team was short-handed.
Matt Sproul gave a great effort up the
boards which resulted in the fifth goal for
Stevenson. Humphrey also collected an
assist on• that one.
Terry Stanley let a flyer go from the
blueline and Rhody tipped it in for the 13th
goal before Tiverton's Adam Skillen ruin-
ed the shutout at 8:23 of the third period.
Cuilleriere picked up another point as he
drove the puck into the net while his team
wasoagain two men short on the ice.
Defensman Terry Stanley netted the fif-
teenth goal for Lucknow with an assist to
Clint Murray and Matt Drennan.
The Lucknow PeeWee A team has now
finished their regular season of play and
did so with a perfect record. The boys can
now look forward to more action in the up-
coming playoffs.
Atom losing streak ends
with a Mildmay tie
Lucknow Atoms
The Lucknow Atoms played in Ayton on
January 14 and returned home on the Toss-
ing end of the stick after a tough 11 - 2
defeat.
The first period of play saw Lucknow in
good form with Ayton ahead by a single
goal. Chad Hiller opened the scoring
unassisted at the five minute mark. This
was followed by Ryan Slotegraaf's goal
assisted' by Eric Andrew at the seven
minute mark of the first to end the period -3
- 2.
Our Atoms came out flat in the remain-
ing two periods and failed to stop Ayton
from combining for another eight goals to
make the final score 11 - 2.
An end to the losing streak
Last Saturday, the Lucknow Atoms pro-
duced a five -all tie with Mildmay to bring
an end to the long losing streak they have
been saddled with lately.
The game had the fans on their feet as
the first period ended 1 - 1 with Chad Hiller
finding the net with assists to Denis Hogan
and Chad Moffat.
Mildmay put two pucks by the Lucknow
goalie in the second period, but Moffat
kept the score close when he bulged the
mesh on a break -away set up by Hiller.
Entering the third period and trailing by
a goal, Lucknow's Mark Chilton found the
mark to create a tie. Assist on the goal
went of Hiller, and Andrew.
Mildmay stormed back with two goals
but that wasn't enough to discourage the
Lucknow lads. Mike Johnston retaliated
with a goal assisted by David Adams and
Chad Moffat.
The final effort came in the last minute
of play when Eric Andrew netted the puck
on a pass from Hiller and David Adams.
The tie with Mildmay may spell a turn-
around for the Lucknow Atoms.
4-2 win for B's

games of the season for the Lucknow
PeeWee B team as they challenged the
strong Listowel team.
When the ice was cleared at the final
buzzer, Lucknow took home a 4 - 2 victory.
The score was tied twice in the hard
fought game and it was not until the third
period that the Lucknow boys were able to
pull ahead by two goals.
As usual, Keith Todd played a excellent
game between the pipes for Lucknow.
Steve Porter mads. his debut in goal for the
PeeWees and also played an outstanding
game.
The Lucknow goals in the win came from
the sticks of Dennis Johnston, who had
two, Lyndon Johnston and Marvin Kik-
kert. Assists on the markers went to Doug
Helm, Tom Chilton with two, Scott
Nicholson, Tom Hogan and Tammy
Hogan.
