The line of Art Clark, Allan Eadie and Wayne Phillips .lead the way for the .,- Lancers as the threesome combined fora total of 10 points in the losing effort. The Kings took a 2 - 0 lead into the second period before Steve MacPherson caught the Kings sleeping and scored a shorthand- ed horthanded goal. The Kings got that one back quick- ly but the Lancers tied the score at three as both Dave Gibson and Art Clark scored for Lucknow. The Kings took advantage of some slop- py play around the net and scored twice to maintain the two goal lead heading into the third period. Each team scored twice in the final frame giving the Kings the victory. Art Clark and Don Elliott rounded out the Lancers scoring efforts. The Lancers bounced back on Sunday as they hosted Durham.. and came out of the contest on the winning side of a 9 - 6 shootout. Hard hitting was the name of -the game as both teams dished out solid checks. Durham opened the scoring early iri the first period but the Lancers bounced back with three goals of their own to take a 3 -1 lead into the dressing room. Steve Allan, Don Elliott and Steve Simpson scored for the Lancers. ,The Lancers jumped to a 5 - 1 lead in the middle period as Simpson got his second with Grant Gilchrist added another. Durham again found the mark first to close the gap as the third period got under- way but Wayne Phillips of the Lancers took a break from running into everything that moved to again give the Lucknow boys a three goal margin. Steve Allan made it 7 - 3 moments later with his second on the night but Durham, just wouldn't give up and the lead was cut to three once again. Steve Simpson netted his hat trick soon after and "Offside Art" found himself in front of the net with the • puck„ and was able to beat the Durham goalie to make the final score 9 - 6 in favor of the locals: Ray Guay played a strong game in the Lancer's goal as the team improved their - record to 5 wins, 9 losses and a single tie. The Lancers will travel to Teeswater this Friday and then have a rare Sunday off. Pee Wees stopped in game two of tourney. Lucknow PeeWee A's The Lucknow PeeWee A's took one loss and one win in the Paisley Tournament held over the weekend. The team started out gung-ho against Lion's Head by putting 14 goals+tfehind the netminder of the op- position. Adam Skillen notched a shut -out in the game as Lion's Head just couldn't find the mark all night. Clint Murray's usual hard work produc- ed the' first goal for Lucknow with assists to Darryl Gibson and Matt Sproul. Donnie Cuilliere- positioned himself on the blueline and blasted a shot past the unexpecting goalie for Lucknow's second goal. Warren Andrew netted the third after Chris Stevenson put it on his stick. The se- cond assist went to Brad Rhody.. Cuilliere got his second on the night with a shot from the point assisted by Andrews and Stevenson. The fifth goal came from Chris Humphrey after a nice passing play from Vince Sticklend and Justin Murray. Murray struck for the sixt y on a good play from Duane Pi er and the seventh came when S : . on took a pass from defenseman T nley, stepped inside the blueline an' • ged the mesh. Gibson used a harp shot to find the eighth with assists to Duane Porter and Clint Murray. Murray and Stevenson pick- ed up helpers on the ninth goal which came from the stick of Warren Andrews. Justin Murray got his own rebound over to Sticklend who netted the tenth. Chris Humphrey also found an assist on that one. Stevenson scored again after a nice passing play from linemates Andrew,and Stanley and Gibson got his second on the night with assists to Clint Murray and Duane Porter. Stevenson's hat -trick came at the 3:34 mark of the final period as another fine passing play from Warren Andrew and Rob Crich came together. Lucknow's final goal came when Terry Stanley carried the puck in and put it onto Matt Sproul's stick. Sproul made no mistake and the game ended at 14 - 0. The next game in the tourney saw Lucknow fall to a 5 - 3 defeat at the hands of Shallow Lake. Chris Stevenson started off the scoring after a lot of hard work in- side the blueline by Warren Andrew. Vince Sticklend scored the second assisted by Humphrey and Porter and Justin Murray netted the third unassisted with Lucknow shorthanded by two men. It was a difficult game for Lucknow as they had to play much of it from the penal- ty box. The team gave it their best shot and ended the day having played two good games of hockey.
