Chamber announces
citizen of the year
A small number of business people attended the
Chamber of Commerce banquet last week.
Lucknow's 1998 citizen t f.the year is Doreen Mali,
who will receive this recognition during the 11 a.m.
United Church Sunday School concert on Dec. 13.
The 1999 executive was elected. Teresa Holst is:
past president; Nancy Hunter is the new president. Pat
McKillop was voted in as vice president and subse-
quently stepped down..from that position. Margie
MacPherson will act as secretary,. and Tracey Londre
as treasurer. Rod McDonagh agreed to continue as
bulletin editor.

was found missing from a

A 21-yearrold. f3uron Township„oatl is facing fur-
, ther charges, this time in connection'With the theft of,
two vehicles last week:
The South' .Bruce .detachment- of-the-OPP say, the
accused entered a residence on Broadway in Huron
Township, on Dec: l an

to a Chev pick up. The accused then drove the vehicle
to London,, where •he stole a second , vehicle prior to
returningto his residence in' Huron Township.
Police have charged him with break, enter: and.
heft, theft exceeding $5,000 and possession oestolett

The accused is also currently taing charges for
theft, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and
possession.for the purpose of trafficking.
He has been minister-
ing for 31 years, 20 of
those in Camellia. Rev.
Gani did, four years semi-
nary in the Phiilipines
where he obtained bis
basin~ degree. This was fol-
lowed: by a year lin.
Lincoln, Nebraska, where
he. did clinical training in: a
church -related hospital
where he was Chaplain in
the cancer department. He
also attended Iliff School
of Theology in Denver,
Colorado, and one year at
the Toronto School of
Theology.
Rev, Gani ;has discov
ered'an enthusiastic con-
gregation that made him
feel "in my element imme-
diately." He is quite excit-
ed about the size of the
Sunday School, the active
UCW and cooperation
amongst everyone. "I'm
inspired by the people.",
Rev Gani is a man who
discovered some yearsago
that it is very necessary to
strike a balance between
work and play."to secure
tiny well being and the
community a of faith. Tin,

day off, golf would be his.
first choice of recreation.
He derives spiritual as
wellas physical satisfae.-

Cynthia, a teacher by
profession,says she has
had no trouble adjusting to.
her new home or the fact.

she hasn't worked since
she was 19. "People here
are so friendly and kind, 1

around music, the children
