1'::ee beard amends
motion: on Lancers
blue ling ub
by. Pat Liivingston.
At last week's meeting
of the Lucknow and
District Joint Recreation
Board,an earlier motion
approving a Rine Line
• club operated by the
• L ancers was amended.
Discussion took. -place
oncleanup, minors, time
of departure from the
facility and .enforcing the
policies inplaee,
It was noted that while
the Lancers do good com-
munity work with the
funds raised through the
Blue Line Club, ,it is
imperative that the guide
, Tines be adhered to.
The motion now reads.
that the Blue Line Club is
approved at ` the arena:.
".,.for ali home games for
, the Lucknow Lancerswith
Proper supervision 'and
paper work. The Lucknow
Lancers also, to be respon-
sible'•for leaving the facili-
ty clean after each 'game
and all person's, to have left'
the facility no later than.
1:30 a.m. Any infractions
could result in the suspen-
sion of this privilege;"
In .a recorded vote,
Stuart Alton ('West
Wawanosh) was the lone
. negative vote. During dis=
cessions, Alton questioned,
. 'why it was necessary for
the Blue Line Club to run
that late, and if ID is
Checked.
An invoice for work
done in •early June. to
repair a light standard at
' the. Dungannon Ball Park
was, approved for pay-
ment,
The board had, given
the go ahead to have the
repair work done assum-
ing. it would fall Under
insurance -coverage. It
turned' out that there was
no insurance coverage
even though an earlier
'agreement between
Ashfield and . West
Wawanosh councils and
the Dungannon
Agricultural Society
included a proviso that the
Agricultural' Society
would insure the. physical
property at the ball park. ,
The invoice for the
work circulated the
Dungannon Agricultural
Society and then Ashfield
atd West Wawanosh
• .councils. The Ag Society
doesn't, have the funds to
pay .the invoice. As the
joint recreation, board had
authorized the work and
because the ,facility: is used
by teams under the board's
• jurisdiction, the bill was
approved for payment
• However, the motion to
pay the $5569 bill ;includ-
ed the stipulation that an
itemized bill be provided
to the board. This stipula-
tion resulted in Tom Pegg;
Liicknow's representative.
