The. Bluearater District
Arthritis, fall meeting was
.in Hanover, recently with
the main topic about
ASMP (Arthritis Self
Management Program).
There is a local weed .for
trained personnel in the
f*eld.
The total from our local
September canvas showed
a drop but not without rea-
son.
We lacked coverage
in some areas because:we '
need more volunteers. The
busy summer did affect us,
and some of the direct
mail -in figures are no
longer available to our
Local chair. Since they
reach the "same goal" do
s repor
net hesitate to do a .direct
rttailrin.
Thanks to dedicated.
canvassers and generous
donors we .received'$3500
to date..
The good news we've
been waiting .for has
arrived. The Canadian
Arthritis Network has
received federal govern-
ment
overn*Hent funding of $14.5
million over the next four
years far research. This.
gives the Society good'
reason to celebrate its. 50th
birthday.
