Canadian Mosaic '99.
• Canadian Mosaic '99 is a
cross Canada camping
• experience.
• In July of next year Girl
• Guides and Pathfinders
from across Canada and
internationally will be
gathering at four sites.
• Each camp will host 1000
participants. The camps
are located in the Yukon,
Alberta, Manitoba and
• New Brunswick.
• Lucknow Guiding is in
the Maitee District. We are
Very proud to have three
patrols travelling from. the
• Maitee District.
Each patrol is made up
• .of. 10 girls and two'lead-
ers. TWO patrols are travel-
ling to Cochrane, just a
• few miles from Calgary,
Alberta. The other patrol

activities at the camp, the
girls going west have an
opportunity to either go to
Banff National Park or to
the Calgary Stampede.
The girls going MI have
cliosen to go whale watch-
ing for their off-site
adventure.
While there the girls
are responsible for setting
up and maintaining their
-campsite, cooking all their
own meals, ensuring their
tents are secure, etc. Each,
patrol is responsible for
bringing all their equip-
ment needed during, the 10
days except for food or
propane. This means that
in addition to their indi-
viduil backpacks and
sleeping bagsthe patrols
must either travel with
their patrol boxes, tents,
stoves, etc or find Some
means of transporting to
their eampite.
Needless to say, a 10
day trip is not an inexpen-
sive proposition. The girls
and leaders are responsi-
ble for their camp registra-
tion .fee, transportation,
.and spending money, and
'their own camping gear.
