About 15,000 phone numbers will be fed into the data baseaccording to Constable Tony Hymers, who will oversee only the technological end of the Asurvey. Phone numbers wilt be chosen at random and the volunteers will call these numbers. Calls wilt be made during the evenings and on Saturdays. in order to.facilitate actual contact with apeman.. Hymers estimates it will take about 4,000 calls to complete the required 400 surveys. Many vari- ables contribute to this, such as no answer at the number, a busy signal,. or refusal to answer the sur- vey.
