Busy season coming

Christmas may seem like a long way
off,: but already people are asking what
the theme of this year's Santa Claus
parade will be. At as weeks Chamber of
Commerce meeting, it• was confirmed
that the parade, a pint project .of the
Kinsmen and the Chamberk will be on
Friday night, Dec'. 4Y at 7 p.m. Put your
thinking caps on and. start getting toady
• to decorate your float to rep-
resent "Your ,Favorite
Christmas Carol." There
will be more information, in
latter' issues, about, the ape—'IZ
ciai events after the parade.
The .annual ""ristrnas tree 'lighting is
set for Friday, 27.

Three local. business people, Irene
Dickie,, Tracy Mews and Crystal Elliott,
have been involved in :the Kincardine
Tour of Hames for the last couple of
years. With their expert guidance, a cont
mittee has been put in place to oversee
the Lucltnow Christmas House Tour. The
• local skating club is also involved. More
information on this in a later issue.
The Chamber received good news
from Irene •at last week's meeting.
Because of the involvement of these
three ladies in the Kincardine home tour,
the sum of $2,000 is being donated to the
L.ucknow and District Chamber of
Commerce.
The Chamber has decided to open a
special account for "down-
town, improvement." The.
donation from Kincardine's
home tour organizers and
the proceeds from this first
Lucknrow home tour will be
deposited into this new account.
For the .second year, rather than have a
Christmas dinner and dance in December,
the Chamber has optedto, have a dinner
for members and spouses•or guests..

vice award. Forms are available at the
Sentinel office. Deadline for nominations
is Oct. 31.
The local swimming pool has a very different look these days while it
undergoes renovations. Thanks to the many donations from organixa.
tions it will be in tip top shape next year, Another. $1500 was given.to the
cause last week, this time from the Bank of Montreal Volunteer Grants
Program. Donna Alton,` full service manager at the Lucknow, Batik of
Montreal, and John Pollard, treasurer for the Lucknow tions Club that is
spearheading the project, took a look at how the work is progressing
