Jessica relates conference
experiences to Unit 2
Anna May Hunter
On Sept. 1, ladies of
Unit 2 of the Lucknow
-United Church Women
gathered at .the farm home
of Tion and Margaret
Cameron for a pot luck
dinner at 12:30. After a
bountiful lunch, Laura
Sterner brought the meet-
ing to order by reading
some verses "The End of
Summer."
• Ella Hackett and Jean
MacLeod were the pro-
gram conveners and Ella
welcomed everybody and
read some verses on
autumn. Jean Conley
accompanied on her gui-
tar, while the ladies sang
There Shall be Showers of
Messing. •
Jean had the meditation.
on "actions speak louder
than words." We must
remember that how we act
or what we do may have a
big influence on people
around .us. It is not always
easy to do right and so
easy to do wrong. Our life
is an open book and there
are always children or
youth who see us and it
could influence them, so
we must always remember
not to yield to temptation.
Jean closed with prayer.
Shirley Bolt read a.
poem "Reflections." We.
see God's hands at work in.
