An open house last
week gave the public an
opportunity to see what
really ,goes on behind the
doors of Helm Welding
(1(A4-3) Ltd. The occasion
for the open house was the.
30th anniversary for the
business
business.
Tours through the large
agri•manufacturing plant
were given by knowledge-,
able employees who
explained their part .of. the
production flue, It put a
new light on the kind of
manufacturing that goes
on in this business that
employs 47 people. For
many of those visiting, it
was a revelation. Now
when they see a
LUCW/NOW produvt ip. a
field dr being transported
somewhere, they will have
a small idea of the work
or Helm V:1c1in
that goes into producing
such prodttets, startina
with the design: and then
the' cutting. moulding,
welding and assembling of
pieces ,f steel to manufac-
ture such things as mixer
feeders.
IVtany expansions have
taken place ' at Helen
Welding since :that first 40'
x 80' building was ofiieial-
ly opened in May 1:968.
The most recent is the
addition of 6,000 square
feet just to the east .of the;
plant. This new building
will be used as a ware-
house and provide a ship-
ping area for the snowy •
blowers the company has
become known for.
