I guess ,I'm feeling a little guilty about the bike hubby got me a few years ago. Itsits neglect- ed in the garage. Banging from the rafters, • it looks just a little for- lorn; • However, recent info!- notion I picked up on tells me if I'm going to put that two wheeler on. the road; I had better add a few things to it. -Did you know that under the Highway Traffic Act '- all bicyclesmust have a sounding device, be it a horn or bell? . - if you are riding at night, the bike must be equipped with. reflective tape white in front and red in back, 2" x 10"? - night riding is one half hour before dark or when visibility is reduced to 150 Metres or less due to weather conditions? - bicycles must 'have. breaks that work? (I hope sot) Under the law all chat- ; dren must wear helmets. There is a fine for no warning de,vine or no helmet; it's around $70. However, there 'is a fine for being in contradiction of any of the others.listed above too. . While those helmets may be uncomfortable 'Y 'n'Ay, q' vfivn•y -and cause bad hair days. I,really think as adults we should wear one too., Firstly, it sets a good example for the young- sters and secondly, as far sure up? as .this adult goes, my biking, abilities are not all that good anymore, and I'd rather protect .tny head thanlook good.. in . @o'-Aitipnto the hel- m, „ l y should be. via a,ett' . tth elbow pads pads. 1 still remember the tumbles gook as a kid and 1 stilt have the scars to prove it.. So if you are biker, you maybe should take notice of some of these rules in the event you are one whose bike does- " n't !meet the laws under the l lighway Traffic Act., ***** This week's OPP occurrences included one in.. Culross Township where someone with few brains, decided to remove some road signs. .This cannot be consid- ered a prank asit endan- gers the lives of people .. who travel roads that are unmarked. I wonder how. the culprit(s) would feel if a family member or , friend was seriously injured because there was no'stop sign at a cor- ner. .It: usually pays to'.
