five. vice -principals.
Combined with the d4:ci-
sion of five vice-prineipals
to return to the classroom
retirements, the board had
to promote 15 principals
and seven vice -principals
to till vacancies in the.sys-
tern. Across the district.
14 principals and five
vice -principals were trans-
ferred for next year.

director Paul Martindale
about the unusually large

number of administrative
changes.
Martindale said assign-
ing school, administration
for 1998.99 was "probably
one of the most difficult
taskswe've had in a long

numbers and different sys-
tems used by the former
boards.
