gOideEt day for the Taydors

It's 50 years now since
Alice and George Taylor
were wed. When asked if
they would have dime
anything different, their ,
reply was "No.". The years
went by;quickly and were
very enjoyable times for
the Lucknow couple.
Alice; Anna Barkwell.•
was•born on the second -
eoncession of Huron •
Township, but when she
and George met Alice was
by then living .in
Lucknow.
George .Edward Taylor
was born on the village's
f`ttlain street, in the.house
now owned by Jeff and
Kristi: Gammie.
Cupid struck :when:
Alice was working ,at
hall's Restaurant and Pool
Room, where •George was

-a regular.
On June 26, , 1948, they -
two were married in
Alice's mother's home; the
current residence of Dave
MacDonald on Campbell
Street. Attending them.
.were Dorothy (Gibsovn)
Hamilton and 'Norman
Taylor. . •
Prior to their marriage,
George worked at many
local businesses around
the town. • .
In 1955, lie joined the
Air .Force, The couple,
along with their -children.
as they were born. -saw
many parts of Canada
Starting . in British
Coknnbia, then to Quebec,
North Faiconbridge, Camp
Borden, and then to'Ottawa
in 19.77. Du.ringethose
years c eoree was a fire-
lighter and retired as a fire
inspector. While an
Ottawa, Alice worked at
Sears from 1972 to 1986,
They attribute the wonder-
ful people they met over
those years to making it all
experience they, will never

In 1988, they returned
to their roots .in Lucknow
and took up residence at •
their . home on Inglis
Street.
Now in retirement they
both enjoy bowling in the
winter and lawn bowling
in the summer. George has
also become a collector of
hate which greet visitors

children: Beverley of

there was family family dinner
as a prelude toan evening'
of dancing and reminisc-

friends at the .Legion,
They were very .happy to.
have both their bridesmaid
and best man at the;cele-
bration.. •
