Amenest the other hundreds of people in Lucknow
that will "Make itGreat in'98" will be the.faces .ot'
Nellie, Diny, Robert, Bill, Frank and Sheila who contin-
ue to Wake it Great' in their own day to day challenges
and opportunities of community living. •
The Winghatn & District Community Living
Association is a non-profit organi ation that provides
support to adults with de relopntentai disabilities to•
obtain and Maintain access to • their communities with
respect to- theiechoices, in areas of residence, work, vol-
unteeri5m, recreation and leisure.
It has been a short six years since the •initiative was
taken to support individuals inthe community of
Lucknow versus, the .segregated Wingham mirorkshep.
During this time we have experienced life .to its fullest,
as we have gotten to know the people .of. Lucknow, and
they have gotten to know us.
Change occurs on, a regular basis, so if.we re not run-
ning the, roads,•,getting from job to job;. we're walking the
streets taking in the activities that Lucknow has to .offer.
Robert hays become art extremely busy man with very
little spam time to *Acne, As a fairlyetw, employee of
the Lueknew Village Market, Rob ona iaund stocking
shelve>, re -cycling boxes or on Ball for packing and
carry out.
if not there, he can be found pushing a_broosn.at
Pizza Delight, .dusting at Becker's Milk or working
along with Dave at the arena, ;helpingmit' at
Ruddleduck's Daycare and the Lucknow •Library .or
.doting, hisdaily mail run for Cut and Curl, Maple
Breezes and lest.
In hisspare time, Rob enjoys the leisurely moments'
he spends with friends at the Lucknow Bowling Alley,
and farming adventures at John and Pat MMKillop's,
Dirty, who is just•part of the woodwork now at
Pinecrest, enjoys her days working alongsidestaff in the,
laundry department. if not folding trowels, you can find
her at Cut and Curl .on 'Monday's where she gives
Delores and Connie a hand with some Gleaning chores.
When ;not working, you: will find Dirty racking up
pins at the Lucknciw Bowling Alley, or enjoying the
expertise hair styling experience at the. Crit and Curl.
Now Ball is a man with: heavy commitments in lois
a everyday work .plac,enients at the Lucknow and District
Co-op, where ue is responsible for pricing incoming
stock merchandise; Helm Welding where Bevin, keeps
him hopping with packaging parts for outgoing equip-
ment anddrecycling at the past office and town hall.
Ona seasonal basis, Bill can be found washing win
ake it
dows for Mef onagh Insuranlce, Crawford, Mill and
Davies law office, and Chisholm Fuels.
in his spare time, Bill enjoys the excitement ,of the
Wednesdays stocker sale at The Lucknow Sales -Barn,
bowling a,few frames at the Lucknow Bowling Alley, or
joining the peasant staff and residents of IVIaple Breezes
for lunch antisocial conversation. ` a
t must be frank about,Frank. He turned "60" last year,
but it hasn't slowed him down. Frank continues to enjoy
his time spent at John and Pat rvIcKillop"s sheep farm,
Rob .Kugier'(let ), attiii Work' placerneint at the
Hazel" Nicholson.
In her spare: time, Nellie has been having a great time
getting together for lunch: with longtime pal Phyllis
Heim.
Sheila,. who is newcomer to the Lucknow area,

oining its on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to work and
volunteer at her two placements. At shear I sign, you
e will find Sheila having a. meat time with Atter Sally
Murray, who makes cleaning a .chore to look forward. to.
When not doing this, you will find her at Pinecrest
where she is in charge of getting the mail delivered to
the residents.
Sheila. Alae enjoys frequenting 'the doors of the
Lucknow Bowling Alley, but bowling is nor her game.
Under the skilled .supervision of Lorna Quay,. Sheila is
learning the fine art of peel billiards and is becoming
quite a pro. ,
Our newest activity in Lucknow takes place at the:
United' Church, where Ruth Belt a retired and .Missed
school teacher of the Lucknow Public School, has chan-
neled her .Goct given talents into teaching literacy to
Nellie, Rob; Bili end Sheila on Wednesday mornings.
Her enthusiasm as a volunteer is contagious; and has
made us eager for more knowledge; While, most students
despisehomework, we have people begging far

keeper for our weekly bowling:

weren't forthe wonderful l -hearted members and vel
unteers of the Lucknow community; We will continue to

her time spent with Shirley, Susan,Ann, Scott„ Wilma.

Cameron will be per-
forming on Saturday;
March 7 at the; Commingle'
with Joyce's Folly; a con-
temporary and traditional
Celtic band which features
guitar, mandolin and
voice: Also featured at the
Commingle will be the
popular local trio, the.
Mast's, featuring' talented
song writer Joanne Durst
and her daughters, Kelly
and Katy.
The Commingle tradi-
