Pickering end Darlington nuclear sta- tions, "looks a little bit better • than before," according to Terry Squire, information manager at the Brine Nuclear Power l evelepment. Employees working at the Bruce station were given.a revised list of job numbers on P'xiday. "In Abe preliminary esti- mates, given in September, 1,076 jobs.were being did- placed. Under the revised • estimate now 802 employ- ees will be displaced."' He said base. staff working at Brut;e Generating Station B has been revised "1996 and 1999 looks, better for staffing." Squire said the September numbers didn't• include Bruce Generating Station A being recovered in 2003. "Now it does," Squire said. Ile said from September '97 to January '98, staff at the Bruce site has been reduced by 250 through voluntary moves and temporary staff :lay- ofts. Another ,100 staff is being held at the site because, Squire said, there should be another 100 positions at the site's Central Maintenance Facility (le write proce- dures and do some equip- ment repairs for.
