I heard. the good news about Jesus who was born. I. rushed . to Bethlehe>ri and I followed the star. It was so far. I saw Mary and Joseph, and the King Jesus :in a manger: k saw the stable. I heard songs that people were singing and there were lots and lots of gifts and I prayed to God; thank you for baby Jesus. Mary • carried baby Jesus to the hay where' the artinals were because he was cry - ug. They stayed at Bethlehem for one night. The angel was on top of the roof. The birds were singing and 'praising God. So were Mary and Joseph. When Jesus .was. a little older, hegot baptized by John the baptist., I like the manger and the clothes that he wears. Jesus is the King; of Kings the Lord of Lords all mighty God. ;(Anna Marie Buchanan, • Grade 3, LRCS)._ Peace•. joy. Love.' I wonder howmuch attention we pay to their, especially the words..:"There was. no room for .them in the inn." I would think the inn, keepers own pri- vate facilities would. be available, even though his 'motel of that day' was crowd-. • ed. "To me the "inn keeper" was : not sold out - he was soul'd mit!• It would appear every weary, worn out camel traveller ,occupied all available space: surely, surely the inn keeper's liv- ing quarters could have been offered: , When Mary and Joseph..arrived, one. glancewould have made it obvious that '.Mary was about to give, birth. There•was 'rio room for sympathy or compassion in their hearts! So in one telling. statement, Luke the physician records the condition. of the heart of the world, "There,, was ;no rootn ', • ror.them in the inn," Think ;of it,, the son: of God, Jesus, was born in a cattle shed and a feeding trough' `'became his ..=7adle. Through 1 -ti' fe and ministry Jesusl• was treated no more hospitable. The lead- ers wanted nothing to do with Him; many of His followers turned 'away from Him as the Cost of Discipleship became clear. ft is the same today. People are soul'd out.,Their 'souls are occupied with the busy concerns of life. They are weary; troubles,. fears, and stress fill their.every walking step. And yet, Jesus the Son of God continues to ask that He reign in. their hearts. • There is room left! It is in your heart. and mine! Christmas time is for HMI to .be born in us and us to be reborn, Here is a little story that'tells it all. It was only because of his. mother's pleading that the young man carne home for Christmas. The young Irian ' wanted it then and •not as part of his• `father's will. The disagreement had started mildly, enough, but had grown through the Years.
