Fcrmer residents Kevin and Joanne Woods have moved into their new home on the tip of Kinloss near Kingarf. We wish these people well in their new surroundings. The Silver Lake Women's Institute met Wednesday evening at the Community Centre at Kinloss for their regular meeting. The members and their guests from the community. painted Christmas snowmen and decorated them for hang- ing. During the business session, thank yous were read from the District Women's Institute for hosting the card party in October. Gloria Bullock reported on the Convention and Rally. _ A discussion centered around the central meeting place: for the new, District. Our group thinks Paisley, is more central than Tara. The members voted to send money for the Kinloss History ,,Book.' Joyce Bragg read two Remembrance Day poems and the meeting closed with the hostess Gloria Bullock and her helpers serving lunch. Beth . and Donna Johnston of Holyrood, vis- ited with Ray and Donna Haldenby, of Teeswater, on Wednesday evening. . Douglas wind Dennis Johnston are attending the Royal this week. After a fun time of helpful hints; games arid skits chaired by Linda Thacker, Laura and her attendants, Lea Anne Hodgins and Tracey Henderson, opened arranged the bows to make an attractive hat for the bride.. While there, they sampled a winter blizzard. Monday we found the young people returning to school. Dungannon Senior Citizen's Centre hosted, many activities last week by Margaret Errington and Teresa Courtney Dungannon Senior Citizens Centre has been a bee hive of activity this past week. Wednesday night, euchre card party hosted seven tables with Harvey Culbert, Irma Crich, Evelyn Christensen, and Helen Russell declared' . winners. Thursday morning play school under the direction of Donna Curran with an attendance of ' 17, Thursday evening, in the lounge, neighbors and friends bid farewell to Bob and Doreen McCormick at a social gathering. Bob and Doreen have taken up apartment residence in Goderich, and a welcome was given to Rose Reber who has purchased the McCormick home in Dungannon. Lynette of Staffa visited Dungannon on Friday with her parents wins • Torn and Margaret Young. 'Guests were welcomed by, Teresa Courtney who also gave ,personalized jokes and presented an envelope to• the guests of honor. Harvey `Culbert, master of ceremonies, gave sever - 'al humorous readings, as did Aileen Troinmer and Margaret Errington. Following entertainment cards were played and a bountiful lunch served. The monthly Friday. evening Old Tyme dance • always draws a good gath- ering of fans from near and far with music sup- plied by Margaret Harkness and The County Ramblers. Roy and Margaret McLean, London, visited with her sister and broth- er-in-law, Mary rother-in-Iaw,Mary and Eldon Austin during the past week and attended the vis- itation and funeral of Keith Hardy, Craig • and Peggy Kerslake and family ,Heather, Ian, Allan and Michael Austin son of Eldon and Mary Austin is now employed in Windsor. He visited with his parents and friends on the week- end. Jesse Woods celebrated his eighth birthday on Tuesday, with six of his friends. Games were enjoyed indoors and out, before the serving of the. birthday supper. In Remembrance Day, Sunday, Rev. Alex ,,NMcGilvery took the chil- .dren at Dungannon. United, ona tour of the. church,: pointing out the' k two hanging Honor Rolls, which bear the names of veterans of the area, serv- ing in World War I and II. In the absence of church organist Mary Garriock, Rev. Alex accompanied the hymn sing on guitar enclosing with a hymn from the New'Hymnary "Voices United" - God, as with Silent Hearts" appro-. priate for Remembrance Day. Cora Thompson, Kincardine, visiting the Glennfamily attended the worship service. The,Board of Stewards were well pleased with the successes of their annual beef supper on Nov. 2.
