Sports iottery 'near 'brek ev -t
At 'last' week's .council meeting,
Councillor Tom Pegg told Lucknow
council that sales of the.lottery, tickets for
minor sports are almost at a "break even
point,e,.
He attributed. "the steady decline in
registrations" at the swimming pool as
being instrumental in the loss "sustained
there each year.. In 1997, °the loss was
$17,000 compared to $22,400 in 1996:
Pegg said the difference in the two years
was due to wages being less in '97.
In a risk'mnnagement study, closing in.
the base of light•standards at the ball; dia-
monds, to keep people fromclimbing
them, was identified...
Pegg said the onesat the Caledonia
Park 'will be completed this'year and the
Kinsmen ball diamond will be done next
year. The cost is about$.150 each. .
