After 22 months overseas, Dave Moffat returned to Ms Langside stomping grounds where he purchased a farm, He and Eileen had known each other most of their lives, but it was coming home from a dance that cupid went to work. • On Oct. 18, 1947 they were married at the Presbyterian Manse in Whitechurch by Rev. W.S. Sutherland. Mrs. Moffat until her marriage had been an employee of Purd"'ons, who owned the local bakery at that time. She helped Mrs. Pardon with the children. After becoming Mrs. Moffat, her time was taken up with five little•boys who came along relatively close to • each, other. o ` . Dave farmed and also drove a feed truck for the • Teeswater Co-op, and for 15 years• was an employee of Ready Mix. In 19.88, Dave and Eileen retired to Stauffer Street in Lucknow. Mrs. Moffat said she found it a little difficult at first being '''in town" but now she quite enjoys it: She says she does quite a bit of quilting - just for her family. Dave has his morning coffee shop gang, bowls and enjoys playing cards. The Moffats' family includes: Bill and Donna of. Kinloss, Donald of Lucknow, Murray and Susan of Lucknow, Ross and Marilyn of Kinloss, and Bob and Yvonne of Teeswater. 'They have 12 grandchildren "six of each" says Mrs. Moffat proudly.
