weekend around Lucknow.
Friday evening was- the
Optimists dinner and: the-
atre night at the
Community Centre with
Ted Johns.
Saturday morning you
could attend the craft and
bake sale in the United
Church .sponsored by the
Young Ladies Group.

Knechtels parking lot, the
Grade 8s of the Lucknow
Public School were selling,
hot dogs and, hamburgers
to raise money for .the
Ottawa trip.
Saturday evening, the
Presbyterians' had a
Mission' Market With dis
plays depicting different
areas of the mission work
of the church such as the
Women's House of Bruce,
Food Grains Bank,
Sleeping Children Around
the World and
Presbyterian Sharing.
There was a book display
of available materials.
Wilma Welsh, adrninis-
tr ttor for International
Ministries spoke and
showed slides of work
around the world.
Sunday morning there
was a joint communion
service at South Kinloss
church when Wilma Welsh
was again the guest speak'
er. Plaques were dedicated
in memory, of Dorothy
Douglas and Rev. Hugh
and Donalda MacMillan
from, the Lucknow area,
whohad served for many
years in Taiwan. •
• In the Lucknow United
.Church the new . hymn
books, Voices United,
were dedicated as a spe-
cial part of the service.
Sunday afternoon you
were. able to enjoy the
beautiful weather either by
participating in the Lions
walk-a-dog-a-thon or join-
ing the Explore the
Country Tour sponsored
by . the Chamber of
Commerce. ,
Saturday evening was
also the Lions Club-
Okto.berfest ' at the
Community Centre:
Darlene Dejong, has
purchased .•the, apartment
house west of the United
Church on Ca,mpbell
Street..
Once again 'the bounty
of God'"s provisions with
the fruits of the season and
the beauty of the mature is
very evident at. this
Thanksgiving time.
