Optimists plan dinner/theatre;
proceeds to go to library

alive and well and helping
to raise funds for local
organizations.
Playwright and actor"
Ted Johns has been pre-
senting his acclaimed one-
man show. Nakedon: the
North Shore: A Tale of
Labrador at church halls,
communities centres and
other makeshift theatres to
help. a variety of organiza-
tions raise money for :spe-
cial projects.
On Friday,, Oct.. 3, the
show will .come to
Lucknow. The Optimist
Club is hosting the dinner-,
theatre night, at. the
Community Centre:
Proceeds will go towards
purchasing . computer.
equipment. needed to con -
.nect the Lucknow Library
with internet and. provide :.
CD-ROM access . 'foir,
research. '

the Mitchell United
Church last April, has
grown into a significant
tour, acid a community
effort.

surprise. Ted. Johns, .a

known for his• work with

Naked on the North
Shore takes its place

successful works.

In an interview<with the Advance Times,. Cliff
Edwards; general managertartistic director, says. finding
sponsorship'is an endless' task., He attributes the support
of local contributors as the mainstay in keeping the the
i.atre alive. :,
With that in mind, the:theatre is 'selling $50 seat spon-
sorships; that will give the sponsor.their name ona
Heritage Theatre seat. -
Edwards says the Theater'is working to find the right
combination of ticket price ,and:performer value.
goal is to create a viable arts centre which can contribute
to the businesses in'the area." '•
The,fall lineup includes one show by Patricia Conroy
on ;Sept 25; The Shoating, of Dan..' McGrew on Oct5 at -

tickets for the Knights -of Columbus' Dream Horne
