Her host family here worked on dairy farm. In the province of Newfoundland, Colleen said they, have a junior 4-H category for. those between five and nine years old, as well as the. 10 to 21 year-old division as •found • .here in Ontario. They . also host Camp Nipper, a provincial 4-H . camp. Clubs in the east con- centrate ,mainly on the skilled projects - cooking, sewing, etc., where the west clubs are mostly dairy-orientedd. Colleen Dalton "The trip was' some- thing I'll never • forget," says Colleen, who esti- mates—She travelled 1,000 km in Newfoundland. As., recipient of the Murray Cardiff Citizenship Award in. 1996, Colleen was eligible to participate in the '96 Selections Weekend where her presentation on Huron. County resulted in her being chosen as the Ontario delegate for the exchange. While Colleen was in Newfoundland, a 4-H exchange girl was visiting this area, spending one week with Colleen's par- ents, Anne and Terry, and one week with Linda MGNee and family. Colleen ha?' , be n involved in 4-H since 198 and has completed 42 clubs with Donna Hayden as her leader for most of them.
