Buchmeier Shane MacKinnon got the lead role in an Independent film in Toronto. It starts next week and is filming in Peterborough and Toronto. Stuart Brough and grandson, Randy, of Toronto, visited on Friday with his aunt and uncle, Ira and Elizabeth Dickie, William, Irene, Karissa and Shea Dickie enjoyed a motor trip to Prince Edward Island. „ Dave Eadie, Erin and Tim,enjoyed their trip to Alberta and they visited with Allan and Brenna .i toss) Eadie in. Calgary. Allan and Sharon, McDougall enjoyed their trip to Granisle, B.C. where they visited with their son, David and Jen. Jonathan MacKinnon is away to the Hockey .Teen • Ranchin•Orangeville for a week. This is the' camp that was sponsored by Paul Henderson and Jonathan won the draw at the minor hockey banquet. Silver Lake WImarks 4Oth anniversary The Silver Lake Institute celebrated 40... years of service to the community on Aug. 6 with a gathering of current and pastmembers, guests and 4-H leaders. The minutes of the first aneeting were read by the secretary Gloria -Bullock. Erlma Haldenby and Joyce Bragg 1dd the in memoriam for the nine members who had passed away in the last 15years, During, 'oilcan, mem- bers -related the things they liked best about the WI and the guests had. their turn to answer:too. Norma received a travel award from the Graduate Students Association, McMaster University and The Anne Hall Memorial Prize to attend and present'. her research at. the 27th. While they were there.Willie's mother... left him on the porch for a day so he wouldn't be under- foot After the sun had set, Willie saw the lamplighter coming up the road'lighting lamps as he went. During a second trip. to Toronto, Willie sees the lamp- lighter and tells him that he wants tobe a lamplighter when he grows•up: - Willie lived in northern Ontario during the 1880s. I enjoyed Willie's adventures, like meeting the bears„ anti living through the big storm.
