of 14 talented youths aged
11 to 19, is busy creating
and rehearsing Pieces of
Alligator Pie, a production
based on, the poems of
Dennis Lee and others.
"We are really having
fun with this (production).
It is truly a collaborative
effort and we're coming up
with some beautiful mate-
rial," says Blyth Festival's
Artistic Director Janet'.
'Amos who is directing the
Young 'Company this year
along with Rachel Brophy
and David Archambault.
Kendra Fry is the stage.
manager and technical
director. Brophy, from
Lucknow, and
Archambault and Fry, both
from Goderich, are all for -
Ballad for a Runs Runner's
Daughter, is the Young..
Company's musical
Director.
Pie features original
songs by the .Company
and a variety of'instru-
ments, everything from
flute, trumpet and accor-.
dion to piano and guitars.
The production itself is as
eclectic as.the music, fea-
turing .fantasy, skits,
poems, songs; .dances,
stage fighting,. acrobatics.
and even fencing.
Costume design is. by
Andjelija Djuric who also
designed the costumes for
this year's Festival produc-
tion of Booze Days in a..
Dry County. The youth
participating in the show
come from Blyth, Clinton,
Vanastra, Goderich,
Seaforth, Listowel and
Wingham,• '
You can enjoy Pieces of
Alligator Pie from Aug.
11 to 16 each evening at 7
p.m. in the basement of
Blyth United church on
Mill Street. There is no.
