The. restructuring:com- mittee met on July 23 ; and developed this option and 'made some amendments.. to"the original proposal: that was returned by the Ministry Of Municipal Affairs dile, to 'tack'' of • -'detaih • in the: original proposes, Bruce arid Tiverton were combined .` Lucknow, Kinloss, Huron;'•and the. two .Kincardines were to"' form one municipality. . ' Stuart .Reavie;. chair of the restructuring commit- tee said, that after the committee reviewed the, restructuring proposal it seemed'morelogic'al to Put the town :of .Kincardine and :the • township • of Kincardine with Bruce and Tiverton. Bruce and Tiverton, under the origi- .nal proposal would :have had one vote on, county council for 2,400 electors. "It also eliminatesone massive municipality," he said. The committee will also present the original proposal which has been - amended to allow one vote on county council' for . every, 3,500 e'lectors; rather than every • 5,000 electors. As the number.of intensive livestock operations in Huron. County .increases; so has Concern about how those operations will deal with the amounts of manure they produce. The manure is used.as fertilizer, but if it is improperly spread or too much of it • is spread, the . raw waste. runs off the land into rivers, wells, water stables • and the lake. The result is unhealthy waters which can carry sickness and -even death-.
