Sherwood-Twamley reunion was held at the Belgrave Women's. Institute Hall on July 20. After the president, Donald Thornton, said grace a bountiful 'noon: meal was enjoyed. He then welcomed..everyone and had a minutessilence in memory of departed rel- atives. 'Tena Thornton was in charge of the games and. contests. The honored senior was Myrtle , Johnstone; .the youngest. present • was Gracie Finnigan; lucky chairs - Grace Finnigan and Bernice Johnstone; car coming the -farthest was Richard Cammidge, guessing the number of candies in a jar was won by Karen McInnes; family with the most present, Mary Thornton. Several games for the children were enjoyed outside. All children receivedprizes, Myrtle Johnstone gave an update on her family history- research and had a sequel to her earlier Sherwood history book for sale. This, proved quite interesting. She had a dis- play of photos and infor- mation' as did Richard Cammidge. Anne Mclnnes: was in charge of the draws. These were won by' Noreen Gnay, Gordon Plunkett, Richard Cammidge, Gordon Johnstone, and Dan Mclnnes and were donated by Myrtle Johnstone, Linda a Burke, Grace Finnigan and Tina Thornton. ° Officers for the coming year are: president, Donald Thornton; vice- president, Murray Gaunt; secretary -treasurer, Sara and Tena Thornton; lunch" conveners, Jim and Grace Finnigan; sport convener, Tena Thornton: Myrtle. Johnstone, on behalf of the group thanked Anne McInnes for her 'many years as secre- tary -treasurer, Burts gather in Hanover The 28th annual Burt family reunion and picnic was held July 19 at Hanover. Memorial Park with 37 family .members. .and guests attending, Members travelled from Cobourg, Innerkip, Kincardine., Lindsay, Mount Forest, Orangevlle, Petawawa, St. Thomas and Toronto. Underwarm, sunny skies, a sports program and tither contests were conducted by Scott Brandt And Sue Priest. Contest winners were •Bevan Lewis, Christopher Burt, Krista . Holcombe and Keith. Priest. A minute of silence° was observed in the mem- ory of Norm Sceli. During ° 1997, Lou and Norma Carignan celebrat- ed their 40th wedding anniversary. Helen .. A commemora- tive cup wasgiven to two new family members - Stephen, the son of Nancy and Bevan Lewis (of Kincardine) • and Raymond,, the son of Tracey and Al McKnight (of Woodham): 64 attend reunion for MacKenzies On July 19, approxi- mately 60 adults and chil- dren, descendants of Neil Ban MacKenzie and Mary Macrae attended ' the MacKenzie reunion . at Ashfield Township Park.. • Again, Mother Nature was kind to all with a beautiful day.
