to Exeter

The Midwestern Rodeo
put Exeter on the trap.
with ' a very successful 11
year, run between 1966
,and 1977, when local:
horsemen and 'service
organizations took, to the
task. The event, at its peak ,
drew 10;000 people to the
community over the Week,
end and became .one of the
best rodeos this side of
Manitoba.
The ,rodeo net its
demise, not due to lack of
interest, but due to the fact
that the old arena was con»
demned and the rodeo
• grounds had 'to be
removed to make, way for
the construction of the
South Huron Recreation.,

South. Huron Recreation
Department is bringing
rodeo back to. Exeter:The

is holding a sanctioned
Ontario Rodeo
Association event on Aug..
9 and 10 at the. Recreation
Centre grounds Show
times. are 2 p.m. both days
and Saturday offers the
added feature of a Team
Penning C•ompetiti;on
organized by 4K Stock
Farms, immediately fol-
lowing the rodeo..
Vendprs,-camping, a::
cowboy breakfast, the
'White Squirrel Saloon and
a BX -93 video dance
round out the weekend
and event organizers hope
to .draw about 4000 spec-
tatorS

to this is now in the plan-
ning stages for Lueknow
next year.

board, made the early bird draws last Friday, in
the "Another' Way to 'Play'lottery.'' Tickets are
