-improving the vsehooi grounds
Doubtless, there is difference in
opinion as to the value of the.
slides, ;swings. and teeters recently
erected on the school playing grotind,
lbut these appear to be the vogue at the
•present time; and no doubt, such
equipment is recommended by the
Department of'Education: The 'stu-
Idents;of all: grades appearedto have a
glorious' time the first few. days, but
the popularity seems to have waned •
somewhat.
If modern_ equipment counts for
anything, the pupils of today 'certain
ly enjoy great advantages over. those,

the changes are all for the best:

orks Department comes
through with flying colors:
The Lucknow village
works department handles a lot of
tasks in keeping the wheels of the vil-
lage turning.. ,
When Mrs. Clare Johnstone .hung
out her washing on Saturday morning
it looked like a ' dandy drying day
When she returned home later, she
found her clothes line in a 'shambles
'Ind some of her clothes high in the
trees, due to a mini tornado that had
blown through the yard.
The town' ladder truck came to the
rescue and retrieved a bedspread, two
sheets,pillowcases, a floor mat and • a
lady's girdle.

not in KISS format... •
When .I stop and think of the changes we humans
adapt to, it ismind boggling. I'm not over the hill but
I do remember learning to type on a manual typewrit-
ers, The changes I have been privy to in my 19+
years with this newspaper reinforces the fact that
nothing stands still.
And `so too, I shall NOT stand still! Onward and
upward;. greet •change with open arms....Now, let me
