the walk-a-thon on
Saturday morning in sup-
port of the Wingham and
District Hospital Action
Committee.
On Sunday 11 people
.from Lucknow went on a
bus trip to Toronto where
they enjoyed the show
'Ragtime" at the Ford
Centre:
Funeral services were

services were held in

passed away at Country

On April 3', Ms.
Green's Grade 5/6 and
Mr. Burkhart's Grade 6
went to the .Roots of
Bruce in Walkerton. It is
about where our food and.
other , agricultural prod-
ucts come from.
Volunteers from the Bruce
County Community spon-
sor this program.
Welearned lots about
our county and its agricul-
tural system. We all liked
going to Roots of Bruce
because we learned how
Bruce County contributes
food and products to our
lives; On April 16th Ms.
Green's class had a quiz.
We were all a bit nervous'
but we think we'll do
well. (Loretta Weber and
Whitney Taylor.)
The Junior division has
been involved in a news-
paper unit during the
month of April. To begin
the. unit, Marg ' Shirley
from the London. Free
Pressspoke to the stu
dents and then held a
workshop for the teach-
ers...As an introduction the.
students used a newspaper
for two weeks and studied
its basic functions:. Then.
the •` , students rotated
through six centres focus-
ing on different; aspects of
the news. Students prod-
ucts
roducts from the centres will
be combined to produce a
:Junior Newspaper.
Many students, are
practicing for. -the Music,
Festival next '•week„ They •
are doing this Jai recesses

The Grade 3 class and
the Drama Club at LCPS
have been raising funds
for their trip to the musi-
cal, Beauty and the Beast,
in, Toronto. Not only will
the students have the
chance to see the play but
will also get to meet the
actors and sit in on an
educational program
about.the play. It will be a:
wonderful educational
experience : for all those
attending. .
The NAZKA. Latin
American Music was a
great performance for
Grades. 4 to 6 last month.
This :.group : of,:people
came from all around the
World such. as Mexico,
Brazil and Colombia.
They have really good tal
ents and we were very
happy that they could.
come. Even. though: we
couldn't understand some
of ,the: words it was really
great. The way they let us
• have sortiefun with them
was nice.
