Obituaries 42.Obittuair ae CAMERON FRANCIS COOK •Cameron Francis Cook of Lucknow passed away at Country .Road: Lodge, R. R.#3, Lucknow on Saturday, April 19, 1997 in his 86th year. He was .born on January 7, 1912..in. Ashfield Township, to Arthur Cook. and Elizabeth (Cameron) Cook. He is survived by'one. nephew Michael and his wife Mary Anne Gook of Connecticut,. USA, and• their family Jennifer, Angela and Jeffrey, He is also survived by many cousins in`the area. Predeceased by one sister Mary Totten and his: parents. Funeral service was conducted from MacKenzie and ,McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow Sunday, April. 20, 1997 with Rev. 'B. Bresnahan officiat- ing. Flower bearer was Jim, Cottrill. Donations to the charity of your choice gratefully acknowledged. --17cc • 'PETER BREMNER: • Flight Lieutenant' Peter Bremner, CO, retired, of R.R. 3, Lucknow, passed away April 1.5, 1997, at the Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. Bremner was born in Toronto on March 6, 1919, a son of the late Thomas and•Anne (Bissett) Bremner. He was employed by. De Haviltand Aircraft Co., in Toronto before joining the Canadian Air Force on Aug. 8,.' 1941, Mr.. Bremner grad- uated as a pilot and trained as a fighter pilot ,before going, overseas. In England, he joined the 441 Caribou Fighter.S.quad.ron, Royal Canadian Air Force,' and served. in England and Holland. flying Spitfires. On May 9, 1945„ two days after the official end of hostilities in Europe, . 442 Fighter Squadron flew top over in Mustang MK. 14s for the lib- eration of the Channel islands. Following' the war, Mr,, Bremner wasa member of the regular Air Force and . became a flying' instructor teaching student pilots from Canada and Europe as part of the NATO training plan. He served'as.assistant edi- tor of the flight safety maga- -zine at RCAF headquarters. in Ottawa. following this he'': was assigned to 407' Marine Patrol Squadron on' Cornox, British Columbia and *was.:: captain. .on a Neptune Bomber until his retirement in 1964.
