Lots to do in Lucknow last week

It has often been said
there is nothing to do in a
small town but that cer-
tainly isn't the case around
Lucknow. ,
About • 30 people
attended the Horticultural
meeting .last Wednesday
when Mr. and Mrs. Geoff
Walker, of Kintail,. showed
• excellent slides of many
different types- of birds
that come totheir feeders
each year. • Also much
etljoyed were the slides .of
exquisite orchids, that
which they grow.
Friday night was, the
hockey banquet at the
Community Centre for
approximately. 400 young
athletes and parents. ,
At the same time there
was a full house at the
public school to enjoy the
excellent performance by
members and friends of
the Agricultural Society of
the three auto comedy
"Grandpa's Twin Sister,"
Saturday night ,they had
another full house Yearning
of the problems mmoney.

Sunday the members of
the Lucknow 'United
Churchhad two full sit
tings for their ham supper.
It was a rotten weekend
weather wise for the Girl.
Guides camping trip to the
Whippletree camp, south
of Grand Rend. They
found tents didn't work
too well to sleep in Friday
night so all moved into the
building.,
Saturday afternoon was
the service for Lloyd Irwin
at the funeral home. He
had passed away at
Country Road Lodge on
Wednesday. '
Sunday morning in the
Lucknow %United Church
Hollie Nicole, baby
daughter of. Gerald. and
Tina Evans, received the
sacrament of baptism,
Birthday greetings go
out this week -to George
Sachs who will be 92 on
April 17 and to Jennie
Porteous who will be 96

celebrants are residents at
Pii'eurest Manor and we
wish them all, the best as

in - Centre last week. Andy.
Scott claimed the, most
shoots.
