guidelines which can help
reduce the risks of expo-
sure to pesticides and chemi-
cals:
•Farm' chemicals, pesticides,
and herbicides must be stored
away from children, in a clearly
marked and locked storage area.
•Read . the label and •follow the
instructions. If an .emergency
occurs, take. the label' with you
and give it the medical profes-
sionals. .
•Practise. good personal hygiene
and wear the recommended pro-
tective clothing and equipment.
This equipment must be
maintainedto ensure it works
properly, ' •
•Do not mix pesticides unless it
is reconmmended.,•
•A supply of clean water should
be readily available, along with
first-aid supplies. •
•Be . aware of poisoning symp-
toms.. If you feel ill, .leave the
area and get help.
•Shower and change clothes
immediately afterapplication of
any chemical.. .
•Wash contaminated clothing
separately- from, other laundry.
Don't forget to cleanthe washer
when, finished.
•Store.' pesticides in their ortgi-

•Keep: pesticides in a well
