Love is. theme for UCW meetings
Unit 1

on, Feb. 6. The meeting 'fol.
lowed the theme "Love.'"

Noma Campbell Were in;.
charge. of the worship.
Noma opened with a Nein
"God's Love," Grace read
the scripture of the
Prodigal Son, Noma read
the meditation "The Lost is.
found." Orace read "Love
that =never fails," followed
by , prayer; Grace read ,an'
article "Our Life in
Christ." 'The worship
closed with Noma 'reading
a poem . "The Closing
Way," Various hymns' with
the word love were sung.
Ella Hackett presided
for the business. We had a
moments silence in, memo-
ry of an associate member
Gertrude Walden followed
by the lord's Prayer,
The rollcall ' was
answered by each.'metnber
giving, a donation to the
Native Healing. 'Fund. The
offering was, taken and the
Least Coins were, collect-
ed:

less and suffering people
' especially in the cities,
church runs a job resource`
centre in. Toronto, at SI.
'Matthew's United Church.
Last September it launched
an innovative . program
called J.O.B. (just our
best) to provide fellowship
as • well as a place to look
for a job. We must be tour
teous and understanding-
and
nderstandingand also help however we
can.

the parlor for lunch and
fellowship.

for ball season, and Chris Maasena is one of
them. Looks like she needs ;n little practice. A`

ding Chris! Actually,, .Chris was one of, those
taking pad in the. Kinsmen's annual Mushbail
tourney .and havinga. lot of fon to boot!

The February meeting
of the ' Lucknow United
Church Women, Unit 3
was held' in the church par-
lor
arfor on Feb. 4. ,Margaret
Finlay, Velma Morningstar
and Marie Haldenby, the
committee in charge,, used
"Love" as their theme. The
scripture on love was fol-
lowed by thoughts of what
love means to ' us. Wilda
Campbell sang "Danny
Boy," accompanied' by
Isobel Shepherd.
The . topic " l ov.e Is"
' showed that love is sharing
necessities, sharing our
faith, and giving' complete
mitment of our lives to
