tables and chairs set up in
the hall, along with a fire-

Our time on the school
page has come to an end.
The Semester iS almost
over and it is time for our
• last Submission to. the
paper. Tile time ,and effort
we put in was well worth
•
it, I know now, because
the knowledge I have
obtained is great.
The school page group,
that consists of Dennis
Adams, rata Marks,
Alysha Metcalfe, Jessica
Fraser, Kendra Hopper,
and me, Arlene McKeon,
would like to thank Pat •
Livingston for letting us
write these' articles about
our school. She let us
learn a lot about writing
newspaper articles and let
you, the readers, able to
know about what is ,going
on at F.E. Madill. This is
very much appreciated. It
is not very often that
someone will let an ama-
teur do a professional job.
I think we all proved our-
selves worthy of the job.
, I would -also like to
thank you, the readers, for.
taking the time to read
what we had to say. I hope
we let you know what you
wanted to know about F.E.
Madill.
Babies atMadill
by Jessica Fraser
Some students may
recall seeing 'babies and
toddlers in care of other .
students in the halls on
Dec. 6, at F.E Madill and
probably were wondering
what was going on. Yes,
you still have to graduate _
from grade eight to get to
highschool.
Mrs. Machan's 3A
Parenting class had a
"play day," Each student
brought a child to the
school for the afternoon
• where there were games,
crafts and toys. the pur-
pose was to give parents
an afternoon to -them-,
stives; they could leave
- their child with the stu-
dents or stay. There 'was a
'born' set up for them with
tea, sandwiches, and cook-
ies.
The students were
grouped into committees.
Each committee was in
charge of the different
activities set up for the
.children. A lot of hard
work was put forth but it
was worth the effort and
next semester's class will
probably try it as well.
Holly Finch, one of
Mrs. Machan's students
said, "It was quite an
exciting and educational
experience."
The students ended the
afternoon by serving the
kids lunch and playing a
few more games. The
• Class was then asked to.
write a two page essay
involving the development •
of the children including
intellectual, physical,
emotional, and social
skills. .
• So if you're ever visit-
ing F.E Madill and you
notice about 16 little peo-
ple running around, it is
probably justthe parenting
class working hard.
