June Bernardine Kinney, of Kingsbridge was honoured on her 80th birthday at an open house held at Kingsbridge Parish Hall. Mrs. Kinney, who has been active in various organizations since retiring to Kingsbridge, celebrated her birthday May 24. Susan Meyer of Holyrood won a trip to Geneva, Switzerland as one of three winners in a nation wide telecommunications poster contest. Susan's poster formed part of a Candlelight service at Trinity By Bell Hackett The Candlelight Service for Trinity United Church was held on Sunday evening, December 18. The choir sang, Has Anybody Seen Christmas, and Give a Little Something Special. The Junior High Sunday School class with the help of some families and the choir had a skit, What is Christmas? Rev. Scott told the story of the Advent Candles while Frank Alton lit the candle. Paul Hackett and Kenny Wilkins then brought the lighted candle for the congregation to light It's a boy! GLOUSHER - Ron and Cheryl of Dungannon are pleased to announce the arrival of their son, Matthew Gordon, on December 17, 1983 at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, a brother for Barret. Jim and Isabel Hunter, and Jack and Wanda Miller attended the Nicholson Christmas on Saturday, December 17 at the Parish Hal in Lucknow. Dan Nicholson was able to have a good day with his family. Winnie Campbell, Bernard and Brenda Campbell and their family, Michael, Alicia and Sara Ann visited on Wednesday. December 21 for a Christmas dinner with Ira and Catherine Campbell and family at Galt. Faiher Ed Dentinger of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kingsbridge ob- served 40 years in the priesthood at a special mass on June 12. Father Dentinger has been parish priest at St. Joseph's since 1972, following a 19 year stint as teacher in Catholic high schools in North bay, Hamilton and Kitchener. The village of Lucknow put on a fresh face for Jamboree 83, the celebration of the village's 125th birthday. Main street store fronts and village houses received a touch of paint and many businesses arid homes sported Canadian flags.
