holds party

A party was held on Tuesday afternoon for
the Sunday School students at St. Helens
United Church.
Get well wishes are extended to two
residents of the village. Leroy Rintoul and
Don Taylor have been hospitalized for
several days.
With snow flurries over the weekend and
also forecast for the remainder of the week it
looks as though we'll have a white
Christmas. Temperatures soared to 13
degrees C (54 degrees F) at this time last
year.

Rhetta MacLennan has had two of her
sons call on her this past week, Jack
MacLennan and his wife, Annette of
Stratford and Donald MacLennan and his
friends, Audrey of Clinton.
The community would like to congratulate
the young Coiling couple on their recent
marriage and welcome them to the area.
They have moved into the late Florence
MacKenzie home at Lochalsh.
Glenn Robb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Robb, had the misfortune to break his knee
cap about a week ago while playing hockey
in Lucknow. It is reported that Glenn will be
sporting a cast for about six weeks. We hope
Glenn will soon be on the ice again.
Charles and Mayme Wilkins were in
Toronto the first of the week to attend the
annual Co-op meeting which was held at the
Royal York Hotel this year. Elizabeth
Wilkins, who has been attending Ryerson

Institute in Toronto, returned home with her
parents for the Christmas vacation. Eliza-
beth will be home until classes resume the
middle of January.
Bill Kempton of Point Clark is a patient in
the Kincardine Hospital. Bill took sick in
Toronto when he was at a hockey game and
upon returning, he was hospitalized. We all
send get well wishes and hope you are home
soon, Bill.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Warren
Wylds were Mrs. Wylds' mother, Irene
Stone of Goderich, their daughter, Linda
Wylds of London and their son and grand-
daughter, Kenny and Melanie Wylds.
Brookside Public. School had its annual
Christmas concert on Wednesday evening.
