Dungannon correspondent
wishes readers a merry Christmas
By Marie Park
Merry Christmas to all readers of the
Dungannon news.
Allan Reed, a former resident of Dungan-
non and now residing in Port Colborne, had
the misfortune to break his collar bone on
November 13.
Company with Bill, Marie, Todd and Brad
Park on Sunday were Mike and Val Bendig
and Joel and Vicki Henry, all of Goderich.
Congratulations to Jim and Debra Lawlor
of Auburn on the birth of their daughter on
December 16 at Clinton Hospital; a sister for
Andrea, a second granddaughter for Tom
and Millie Lawlor and twenty first great
granddaughter for Gertie Park.
Anyone reading their London paper
recently will have read about Rev. Karl
Sievert and his misfortune at this joyous
time of year. The church in Port Stanley
where he is minister was broken into and
several personalgifts to his children, as well
as a very sentimental, to the say the least,
stamp collection was taken. The thieves also
broken open a metal collection box which
only contained about $3.00. Karl is well
known in our area by many people.

Midgets score eleven goals
in game against Tiverton
By George Gibson
On Tuesday, the Micgets skated to a
season high eleven goal performance against
Tiverton. The game was not a rout for the
first period at least, as the Lucknow team
continued their habit of taking a lead and
then. being gentlemen. giving the opposi-
tion a sportii:g chance to catch up.
Two goals in about three minutes got
things off to a good start but Tiverton tied
the score late in the first period. in second
period action. Lucknow scored three straight
then traded goals to hold a 6 - 3 lead after
two period. Although Lucknow scored early
in the third. Tiverton fought hack with two
power play goals and appeared to gain some
momentum.
This feeling of optimism was short lived:
the forward line of Darin Lindsay. Darren
McKim and Jeff Gibson flanked the red light
three times in a space of 27 seconds leaving
little doubt as to the outcome. The teams
traded goals late in the game leaving the
final score Lucknow 11, Tiverton 6.
On MrndaN„ night in Ripley. the team met
a chilli welcome when the home team scored
three times in the first couple of minutes and
skated to a 7 - 5 win.
After such a bad start, the Lucknow team
fought back to within a goal but they gave up
a big goal late in the second period to give
Ripley a two goal edge that proved to be too
much to handle. in third period action,
Ripley increased their lead but •Lucknow
ground out three goals of their own to end
the game down two.
The final score marred an outstanding
performance by Dan Gilchrist who scored all
five Lucknow goals. The line of Chris Irwin,
Grant Murray and Gilchrist not only
provided the scoring punch but were not on
the ice for any goals against. leaving them a
very respectable + five for the night.
While both games represented good team
work. not many, assists appeared on the
score sheet. Point scored this week were:
Card. 1 assist: ;vihson. 1 goal. 2 assists:
Gilmore. 1 goal; Gilchrist. 7 goals; Irwin, 1
assist; Lindsay. 2 goals, 1 assist; McKim. 1
goal. 2 assists; D Murray. 1 assist; G.
Murray, 2 goals. 2 assists; Ritchie. 1 assist:
Shepherd. 1 assist: West. 2 goals, 1 assist:
K Van Osch. 1 assist: S. Van Osch, 2
assists.
