Riddell speaks
to cattlemen
MPP Jack Riddell attended the recent
meeting of the Huron Cattlemen's Assoc-
iation to give a short brief on what will
happer to the Ontario farmer if he doesn't
get assistance.
A motion was passed by the meeting that
a letter be sent to Dennis Timbrell, the
minister of agriculture for Ontario, request-
ing a subsidy payment for 1983 to all Ontario
producers to permit them to compete with
neighbouring provinces where farmers do
receive assistance until a tripartite stabiliza-
tion program is in effect in Ontario.
A resolution was accepted from the
Concerned Farm Women, and replies from a
recent letter sent to the Honourable Eugene
Whelan, federal minister of agriculture
regarding the tripartite stabilization plan
were read.
