Joanne Van Osch, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William Van Osch off n.1t. 3 Goderich,
graduated from F'ansliawe College of
Applied Arts and Technology, London with
an accounting diploma.
Joanne is presently working for Kist
International Inc., Hexdale, as an ac-
countant.
JIM VAN OSCH
Jinn Van Osch, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Van Osch of H.H. 3 Goderich,
received his Honors Bachelor of Arts degree
in geography during the fall convocation
ceremonies of Wilfrid Laurier University.
Jim is presently employed as a junior
cartographer with the Canadian
Hydrographic Service.
Janet Elaine Laidlaw, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs Ivan Laidlaw of IL 3, Wingham,
graduated with an honours diploma from the
Conestoga College of Applied Arts and
Technology hi the legal cretary's course.
Graduation ceremonies were held Novertnmber
26 at Conestoga College, Kitchener, follow-
ed by a dinner and dance at Waterloo Inn,
Waterloo.
Consider request for drain repair
The December meeting of West Wawa -
nosh Township Council was held on Tues-
day, December 6, 1983, in the Office of the
Municipal Building with all members in
attendance and Reeve Aitchison presiding.
,The minutes of the November session
were adopted as printed an motion of
Councillors Brindley and Todd.
A request for repair on the Young's Creek
Drain on Teade Bakker's property was
spoken to by lith. Bakker himself who
appeared before Council in this regard. He
also voiced objections to a motion of Council.
regarding the same drain, which was passed
at the November session. The Reeve reiter-
ated what the Clerk had previously told
Bakker, ie, the intent of the motion is exactly
as it feads - that before any work is approved
on the drain ALL assessed owners will be
notified. The Drainage Superintendent
assured Bakker that he would be contacting
the Ministry of Natural Resources and that
he (Bakker) will be kepi informed of develop-
ments.
Motion by Councillors Hickey and Brind-
ley, That the Building Inspector is hereby
authorized to issue a building permit to Levi
Stutzman to construct a building to house
the sawmill.
No action, for the present, was taken on a
request from A. J. Sherwood to have Council
approve a drainage project on his property
om concession 3.
Councillor Todd reported that Robert
Hallam had approached her in regard to
having the Young's Creek Drain reassessed.
No decision on any apsect of the Young's
Creek Drain was made at the present time.
Road accounts in the amount of 56,869.34
were ordered paid on motion of Councillors
Brindley and Hickey.
Council decided to order one copy of
Municipal World and have it delivered to the
office.
The Clerk was directed to authorize Ross
Davies to register the Hy -Law, designating
the Janeway in Nile as a highway, on title.
By -Law #20-83 was given third reading
and finally passed on motion of Councillors
Todd and Brindley, a rating by-law to levy a
special rate on farm property to cover a tile
drain loan.
Committees were left with the same
appointees as in 1983.
Motion by Councillors Brindley and Ray-
nard. That West Wawanosh Township
Council here by authorizes 515.00 dog tax.
charged to Lenard Kerr in 1983 in error. to
be written off.
An application for loan fon the drainage
submitted by William Beyersbergen was
approved on motion of Councillors Raynard
and Todd.
The general accounts of S64.3SO.74 were
ordered paid on motion of Councillors
Raynard and Hickey. This includes school
boards and county final requisitions.
