On Friday evening a social and fun party
was held at Whitechutch Community Mem-
orial Hall ' Chalmets Presbyterian Church
with the United Church cangteg1tion guests.
The mastet of ceremonies was Mt. Rod
Limb valra opened with a sing song and Mts.
DO* Ross watt pianist. Activity games such
as musktil chairs and contests wete enjoyed.
A talent show was then held. The e 31 present
decided to have itioth t patty as they
eried thig one so much. Lunch was served
dose of the patty.
Mr. and Mts. Walter Elliott attended the
Federation of Agriculture Convention held
last week at Toronto in the Skyline Hotel.
Then on Friday and Saturday in London they
attended a meeting of punk Corn which
Walter grows and sells. While there they
visited with Mt. and Mrs. Paul Laidlaw and
family.
Miss katen Elliott spent the weekend with
Mt. and Mrs. Ross Henderson and family of
Lucknow.
A family birthday patty was held Sunday
evening for Osie Mwbtay and Angus
Falconer at the home of Mt. and Mts.
Angus Falconer. Ptesent were Mrs. Isobel
Tiffin, Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
Tiffm; Mt. and Mts. Alan Falconer, ?Tony,
Tim and Amy and Mt. and Mts. Kevin
Falcowet.
Isobel Tiffin of Lucknow spent the
weekend with her sister, Cassie Mowbray.
Many in the village have put their outside
Christmas lights up and turn them on in the
evenings to usher in the Christmas season to

Mr. and Mrs. Jose Ducharme of Goderich
visited last Monday with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.
Mr. and Mrs. David Bean and family of
Brampton spent the weekend with Clifford
Laidlaw.
Mt. and Mts. Bill Rintoul visited on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cardiff of
Brussels. Mr. and Mrs., Gordon Caldwell of

Mts. Allan Gibson read an article from the
Mandate telling how Bob and Shirley Piercy
lead taken a sabbatical leave from teaching at
McMaster tinivefsity to teach at the tTniver-
sity of Science and Technology at Rie Jing,
formerly Peking. Mrs. William Humphrey
read a poem, Something about Christmas.
The minutes of the November meeting
were read and approved. Fourteen members
answered the roti call with a Chiristmas verse
Congratulations from the community to
Janet Laidlaw who graduated from Conest-
oga College, Kitchener, in Applied Arts and
Technology with a legal secretary's diploma.
Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul came home on
Sunday from the Regina Agribition.
Mrs. Gary Rintoul was in Clinton on
Saturday and Kimberley Rintoul was baby
sitting.
Visitors on the weekend with Mar. and
Mrs. Carl McClenaghan and Mary McClen-
aghan were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Des
Roches and Joe Blackport, London and Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Moss of P'lattsville.
Roddy Inglis of Earlton, Ontario called on
hif`ster, Pauline Adams on Monday when
he *as on his way to Henson to pick up his
daughter, Lisa. to take her home for a
holiday.

Mrs. Alvin Irwin gave the treasurer's report

jar. Following the committee reports, Mrs.
Rice gave an interesting article on. Women
Helping Women in India.
The closing hymn. Gentle Mary Laid Her

social time.
