Nancy McInnes, formerly of concession 10
and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan McInnes,
now of Blyth if living in France learning
French first hand, living with a French
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Johnstone and
Noreen of London were weekend visitors
here with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guest and also
called on other relatives.
Mr. Dan Nicholson and his daughter, Mrs.
Jim Hunter were recent visitors at the home
of Mr. and. Mrs. Don Gillespie.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Slessor of Glamis
visited on Wednesday evening with Mr. and
Mrs. /Jett Nicholson and on Sunday Mrs.
Lenoys Cuyler of Millarton visited at the
same home.
Mt. and Mrs. Thomas Bier and son,
Henry of Echo Hay, visited with Mr. and
Mrs. William Haldenby and other relatives.
Mrs. Frank Maulden and her sister, Jean,
Mrs. Arthur Phillips, returned home on
Sunday from their western trip. They visited
at Vancouver and also with Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Webster at Edmonton and Hess talked
to Percy Hart by phone while in Calgary.
Agnes Hodgins returned home Sunday
from visiting at South Burnaby, H.C. with
Mr. and Mts. Douglas Tiexeira (irlma
Hodgins) and their families.
Mrs. Glen Hodgins and some friends of
St. Catharines visited with Marretta Hod-
gins and Darryl on Tuesday.
Trinity couple visits
at Langside

Sandra and Kathryn visited on Sunday with

Todd of Langside.
Paul and Janice Blake and Stephanie
visited on Sunday in Goderich with Paul's
patents, Howard and Helen Make.
Congratulations to Nora Van Dyke and Ed
Verkley who were married at Kingsbridge on
Saturday.
Visitors on Friday with their cousins,
Betty and Harvey Ritchie were Chester and
Gladys Pinnell, of Mildmay, Hazel Davidson
of Wingham, and Agnes Walker of King
City.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jones of Moose Jaw,
Saskatchewan visited here with Edna and
May Boyle, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott of
Ripley and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Boyle of
Lucknow and called on other cousins.
Thanksgiving visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Hill MacPherson, Holyrood, were Mr. and

Nelson Lockrey, of Fort Pranks.
Kinlough A.C.W.
The Kinlough Anglican Church Women
met on Thursday afternoon at the home of
Mrs. Eric Thacker.
Mrs. Delbert Hedley presided and the
meeting opened with prayer. Mrs. Ronald
Thacker read the minutes of the previous
meeting.
An invitation was accepted from the
Presbyterian W.M.S. to their Thankoffering
meeting on October 19.
The roil call was answered by Miracles
that Jesus did.
Final plans were made for a visit to
Hrucelea Haven.
May Boyle presided for the election of
officers for 1984.
Instead of the regular program four large
bales of men's, women's and children's
clothing were packed for Pikwitonei in the
Diocese of Keewatin. Mrs. Midford Wall
and Mrs. David Haldenby were conveners.
At the close of the meeting Louisa
Schneller gave the courtesy remarks and
delicious refreshments were served by the
hostess.
Cross country results
Results of the Cross Country Meet held
October 6 at Bruce Beach were as follows:
tyke girls, W. E. Thomson, Ripley -Huron
Central and Huron Heights; tyke boys,
Lucknow Christian, Huron Heights, Luck -
now Central; junior girls, Lucknow Central,
W. E. Thomson, Elgin Market; junior boys,
Huron Heights, Ripley -Huron Central, Luck -
now Central; senior girls, Huron Heights,
W. E. Thomson, Elgin Market; senior boys,
Huron Heights, Ripley -Huron Central and
W. E. Thomson.
Stocker sale
Three hundred head of cattle were sold at
the stocker sale at the Lucknow Community
Sale Barg on Monday, October 17.
Dave Moffat consigned 13 steers, averag-
ing 800 lb., and were sold to Ross Gammie at
78.90.
Six calves, averaging 465 lbs. were sold by
Alvin Sherwood to Ian McRae, Wingham,
for 84.00.
Stewart Lane bought five heifer calves
averaging 450 Ib. for 72.50. They were
consigned by James Aitchison.
Four heifers, averaging 655 lbs. were sold
by Tunis Kolkman to Chester Hackett for
66.00.

school news
Yearbooks
Mrs. Birnie has some yearbooks available
from previous years which are being sold
for $5 each. The money raised would go into
the current yearbook. fund.
Soccer
Our school teams did eze1-emely well. The
toys' team finish& first it, the south Bruce
Tournament iteki in Kincardine. The girls
didn't do quite as well, but for their efforts,
they deserve a pat on the back. Congratula-
tions' By Drawn Wardell and Becky Cud -
more.
Cross Country
On Thursday, Oct. 6, the cross country
team competed in the regional meet at
Bruce Beach. The team made a very respec-
table showing. CongratuiAtions are extend-
ed to Art Galloway who captured the junior
boy's championship. The other members of
the team also made a good showing, and
should be commended.
