Ripley couple moves
Recently Mervyn and Lenore Hooey mov-
ed from their home in Ripley to one of the
Forbes apartments in Kincardine.

The Ripley and District Lions Club are
canvassing for the etitth again this year.
They will be dialling on Ripley and Huron
Township on Wednesday evening Oct. 20.

The Ripley District Horticultural Society
held their October meeting yesterday
(Tues.) afternoon in the Legion Hall.

Mary Lynn and Debbie McLean accom-
panied theirrandmother Mrs. Jennie
McLean to the Lions Head district this past
weekend. The ohcasion was the wake and
funeral of their relative Dennis Hellyer, RR
1, Shallow Lake, Just 34ears old he suc-
cumbed to a massive heart attack.

Lori Weber spent the weekend with his
grandparents Lorne and Linda Emmerton

Jim and Marie Lowry visited over the

there Malde accompanied Don and Sharon
Lowry on a trip to cirand Island and COM -
Ingo New York, while Jim stayed with his
grandsons Patrick and Scott.
The new fours in the Forrester hotne on
Malcolm Street are Mr, and Mrs. David
Harrison and two suns Stott and Craig. They
moved down from kititarditie a week ago.

Huron Townshi , were on a camping trip

With better weather on Saturday they
went for a hike along the beach and had a
camp fire. They also did crafts and enjoyed
cooking their meals. On Sunday after
breakfast it was clean the carep, another
hike then head home to Ripley. Thanks to

tober 11 featured a picture and an article on
Susan MacDonald a radiation technician at
the University of Western Ontario in London
Native of the Ripley Huron area Susan is the,
daughter of Janet and Jack Farrell Con. 12
Huron Twp. and the daughter-in-law of
Mary and John C. MacDonald of Ripley.
A Grade 10 graduate of the Ripley district
High School Susan has a bachelor of Science
degree from the Universityof Waterloo and
also a registered technologist diploma in
Nuclear Medicine from St. Joseph's
Hospital in London. In her present position
Susan has several responsible duties.
Thomas Franklin Seott
Thomas Franklin Scottpassed away on
SundayOct. 10, 1909 in the Wingham District
Hospil in his 90th year. born in Huron
Township on Tuesday, Sept.1 1094, his
parents were John Hobert cott and Ann
Smeltter.
He is survived by his wife the former
Margaret McIntosh, a daughter Sheila Mur-
ray of Kincardine and two grandchildren,
also two sisters Elizabeth Pair of Ripleyand
MaryMadDonaio of Lucknow, and one
brother John &ott of Ripley.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday,
dtt.10 at 2 p.m. in the Macltetizle McCrea
Funeral Home in Ripley with Rev. Philip
Ruche of St. Paulsr Anglican Church in
Ripley officiating. Interment was in the
Ripley Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral
home was on Monday evening also a
Masonic Lodge service.
Frank along with his brother the late Joe
Scott formed the Scott Bros. Company

The committee in charge of Class 4 --
Plants and Flowers were lvlrs. Judy (Bob)
Thompson, Mrs. 0E111 (Keith) vati der Hoek,
Mrs. Helen Vander alas, and Mrs. Edith
( Charles) Smith. The flower show was large
and colourful with 190 entries. The first 15
section in this class were potted plants.
The first three sections were different
African violets with a t'it.J1 tit 77 antries
here. And the winners were for violets - light
colour and single crown - Mrs. John Builth,
Mrs. Tom Henderson, John W. Scott and
Joan Rae; dark colour and single crown -
Mrs. Elizabeth Geddes, Marion Smith, John
Smith and Cheryl Collins; for best African
violet with more than one crown - Joyce
