Children enjoy after school craft class

The elementary school
craft class met on September
19 at Chalmers Presbyterian
church after school with
leader Mrs. Ron Lamb and
helpers Mary Chapman and
Alice Moore. Twelve child-
ren were present for the first
meeting to enjoy the songs,
stories and crafts. A Snoopy
dog out of a paper cup.
Nellie Evans of London
visited a few days last week
with Rena Fisher and on
Tuesday called on 'Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Gibb, Mr, and
Mrs. Vic Emerson and Mr.
and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Mirehouse, Wenonah and
Juanita left on Wednesday
for Niagara Falls to attend a
church convention.
Dr. Bill Burgman of Kirk-
land Lake called on Wednes-
day to visit with Mr, and
Mrs. Vic Emerson, with
whom he worked on the farm
when he attended high
school.
Mrs. George Fisher of
Wingham wishes to an-
nounce the marriage of her
daughter, Doris Louise to
Reid Cameron Russel, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Russel of
Barrie. The wedding took
place in the United Church
Chapel in London with Rev.
Carr performing the cere-
mony. Renee, daughter of
the bride, was flower girl,
Attendants of the bridal
party were Murray and Nan-
cy Pushing. Mr. and Mrs.
Russel will reside at R. R, 5
Mount Brydges.
This community extends
sympathy to the John Askes
family in the passing of their
father who at one time
resided in a trailer at Wilk-
ins' garage.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wall
of Wingham called on Mr.
and Mrs, Victor Emerson on
Saturday on their way home
from Ripley Fair, where
Gordon had been playing the
violin for a 4-H group putting
on a display.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Straker
of Wingham were Sunday
callers on . Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson.
Visiting recently with Mr.
and Mrs. Russel Chapman
were Mr. and Mrs. Phillip
Blackler, Jessica and Alia of
Kirton, Mr. and Mrs. Gary
Chapman and family of
Wingham, her mother, Mrs.
Irving of England, and Chris.

Boer visited on Sunday with
his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Derk
Logtenberg and family of
Dungannon.

Kenneth Simmons of
Wingham visited Sunday
with his sister, Mr. and Mrs.
E. W. Beecroft and Karen,
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Al-
ton of Goderich visited rec-
ently with Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin.
Recent visitors with Mr,
and Mrs. Dan Tiffin were
Miss Joyce Tiffin, Barry Tif-
fin and Charles St. Pierre, all
of Toronto.

Wilson of Wingham, who
with immediate family rela-
tives celebrated her 80th
birthday on Saturday night in
Whitechurch Memorial Hail.
Hazel Purdon returned on
Wednesday from the Wing -
ham Hospital to Cosy Cot-
tage.

tout visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Speir-
an and Sara.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Vannus
of London spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw.

Brampton spent the weekend

Florence Stothers of Lon-
don pared away at Park -
wood Hospital, London on
Friday, September 23 In her
89th year. She was the wife
d the late John C. Stothers
and dear mother of Jean
Carruthers of Goderich, Dr.
John Stothers and Donald
Stothers, both of Landon.
She is also survived by seven
grandchildren and one great
ub Funeral service
we pfd on Monday in Lon-
don. Mary Dere of Dungan-
non is a niece of Mrs.
Stothers.
There was no service at
Dungannon United Church
on September 25 so the
congregation could attend
the 128th anniversary at Nile
United Church.
Guest minister was Rev,
Arthur Scott of the Trinity -
St. Helens charge. Rev. and
Mrs. Scott sang two duets, If
Jesus Goes With Me, and
Walk With Me. Mrs. Scott
sang a solo, Do You Wonder?
A joint choir of Nile and
Dungannon ladies sang two
anthems, Shall We Gather at
the River? and Mansions
Over the Hilltop.
Lunch was served and a
social time enjoyed after the
service,
Rev. Roberts preached the
anniversary message at Si.
Helens Church on Sunday,
The Dungannon anniver-
sary committee met on Mon-
day, September 26 at the
manse.

delicious picnic dinner at

A good number of ladies
answered the roll call with
Holiday Memories.
Elsie Irvin and Nora Saun-
ders gave an interesting and
informative report of their
U.C.W. conference trip to
Sault Ste. Marie. The theme
was, A New Vision. The
ladies commented on how
many younger ladies attend-
ed and hoped some repres-
entatives from the Willing
Workers would go another
year,
The feature was presented
by Dorothy Pentland and
included a contest entitled,
Things You Would Serve
Your Husband, followed by
some short ditties written by
Dorothy's father, Rev. Tay-
lor, and a reading, Many
Reasons for Going to Church.
The president closed the
meeting with benediction.

On September 22, Dun-
gannon 1 4-H club held
meetings 4 and 5 at Sharon
Pengeliey's home. They de-
cided to work on their club
books, learning about skin
types and what kind of mois-
turizers to use.
The girls washed their
faces before applying it and
waited 10 minutes before
taking i off.
After everyone was finish-
ed they decided to pick a
name for the club and
decided on "Dungannon Dol-
lys"..--
