A few other ladies also knowing it was an afternoon in Bernice's honour, planned a lunch and all got to the Maulden home before Bern- ice arrived. She got a real surpise party, Bessie set the T.V. tray full of individual gifts in front of Bernice's chair and all sang Happy Birthday. After all the gifts were opened, Bernice expressed her thanks and her surprise. Mr, and Mrs, Aurele Bou- vier, Patrick and Aaron of Chapleau, Steven, Cathy and Robert Hamilton of Lucknow, Karen and David Hamilton of Brandon, Mrs, John Darr and Winnlfred Percy visited during the week with Mr. and Mrs, Jack Barr. Mrs. Bill Burt was to Toronto Tuesday and Wed- nesday visiting with Mr, and Mrs, George Hurt and fam- ily, They had a birthday barbreque in her honour. Mrs, Dorothy (Murray) Reinhardt of Walkerton and her aunt, Miss Margaret Murray visited with Mrs. N. E. (Ted) Haldenby one after- noon, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burt were guests at the Pearce - Ceiling wedding in London on Saturday. Mrs. Marretta Hodgins and Darryl visited on Thurs- day with Mrs. Phoebe Stan- ley at Blyth. Mr. and Mrs, Bill Burt were dinner guests on Sun- day night of Mr. and Mrs. Ian McNab at their summer cottage at the lake, conces- sion 12 west. Mr. and Mrs. Midford Wall, Mr. and Mrs. Don Wall, Krista, Karah and Ja- son, visited last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hackett at their cottage in Hockley Valley. Mrs. Alex Percy and her grandson, Eric Haldenby flew Sunday to Winnipeg to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Munro and family. Jack Barr and Brian Percy drove Mrs. Percy and Erin to Toronto to the airport. A very pleasant time was enjoyed by all present on Saturday afternoon when neighbours, relatives and friends gathered at the Ang- lican Church basement to honour Mrs, Kevin Howey. (nee Cathy Hedley) with a miscellaneous community shower, Mrs. Jack Harr in her. pleasing manner was chair - lady and extended best wish- es to the bride and a hearty welcome to everyone. She conducted a contest on T.V. commercials. Edna and May Boyle led in a sing song. On Sunday they attended the 90th birthday party for Glen's father, Roy Haldenby at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mel Dahmer.
