Residents attend
Chepstow Bazaar
By Greta Rapson,
Resident Correspondent
Here our beautiful July is
almost ended and i would
like to tell you about some of
our highlights. We had a
picnic trip to Saugeen Valley
Conservation Park on the
12th and on the 13th we had
our monthly birthday party.
We went bowling on the 15th
at Midtown Bowl and had a
scrumptious time at the
Chepstow Parish Bazaar on
the 16th.
We had a most enjoyable
visit during the month to the
Bruce County Museum in
Southampton where we were
greeted by their friendly
staff. Many of the articles
brought back fond memories
of days gone by, some good
and some load.
Since ' /alkerton's Chick-
enfest W eek was celebrated
by Homecoming Week, were
most privileged to have His
Honour Lt. Governor John
Black Aird visit us on July
21st in the accompaniment of
Walkerton's Mayor Jim Bol-
den and his wife, Pat along
with Bruce County Warden,
Jack Cumming and his wife,
Helen. Many of us were able
to catch the Homecoming
Parade on Saturday, July
23rd, an event we thoroughly
enjoyed.
On the 27th we enjoyed
our trip and tour to Douglas
Point. Mr. Moore gave us a
pleasant surprise when he
arrived on the 29th with our
new van?
1 forgot to mention that on
July 6th we had our Straw-
berry Social, This day was
sponsored by our dedicated
ladies from our Brucelea
Haven Auxiliary.
On behalf of the residents,
i thank our Auxiliary, Pat
Peck, who is our Activities
Co-ordinator, and all the
staff and volunteer drivers
who helped and assisted in
making this month a lot of
funl
We were saddened this
month with the passing of
two dear friends, Lily Grant
of Paisley and Charles (Char-
lie to us) Fewster. We wish
to extend our sympathy to
their families and friends.
